Just browsed the Leicester forum for the first time. They have a Zaza thread and it'll be a matter of time before they will have one for Morata too

They wont push for much more if they have no intention on keeping him themselves. They want to get close and not have to deal with a transfer out. Plus surely they will bring in a few big signings and they want to start on that right away.

Its not about the intention of keeping him but Madrid in recent yrs have always been looking to offload their surplus for capital gains. The situation with Morata is no different. They'll buy him back only to sell him for an absurd fee so that their balance sheet will look healthy. They'll use that money to purchase even costlier transfer targets.

Check the Bale transfer.Napoli practically funded most of that fee by buying Higuain,Callejon and Albiol from them.
Ofcourse Madrid can buy expensive transfer targets even without selling anyone but its the way they have been operating recently.

I dont think Madrid gets him back only to unload him for 55 million if we do offer 45 mil(15 more than what we are owed for them to take him back) Just dont see it. Its not like we pay them 25 or they got 55 somewhere else

Maybe they are already in talks with someone though and have some concrete offer down that is really high and Morata said he would go but I doubt it

Madrid are greedy cunts. They'll ask for more.

In my opinion Morata should push to stay here otherwise he's gone .
The bigger question is if they can get more. That means 45 million from us for Morata... Add the 10 million difference they have to pay us, that means they'd have to sell him for 55 million to match that... and although I love Morata, he's not going to sell for 60 mil plus. He just hasn't shown enough, aside from one run in the CL.

Madrid has an excellent sales record, unlike Barca. They've been superb at selling players for the last 4-5 years. Ozil, Higuain, Callejon, Di Maria, and so on. But Morata isn't on that level, and I really doubt he'll sell for more than 50 mil. He's not one of the 18-20 year old wunderkids selling for so much these days, he's 24 in October.

Unless Madrid wants him back to play for them, I'd think an offer of 20-30 million from us should be able to remove the buyback.

And i believe they can.Thats the whole point of my argument.

Too much money lying around in EPL right now.

Just for starters,Arsenal are signing Xhaka a CM/DM for €50M in May.

Somebody may eventually throw big money at Morata unless Morata himself forces the issue by saying he wants to remain in Turin.

There is. I just don't see it being offered for Morata...

There are 3 teams in the PL that have shown the ability to break that 50-60 mil barrier on a player. ManCity, ManU, and Chelsea (although I don't think Chelsea has yet). Arsenal has the finances to do it, but hasn't yet spent anywhere close, and doesn't seem to believe in transfers that large. Tottenham is a wildcard, but doesn't seem to be that interested. Liverpool, I'd say no.

None of the small clubs are going to be spending that much either. Regardless of how much money is believed to be in PL. There's a reason a team like LC is looking at Lapadula.

So, you're looking at ManCity, ManU, Chelsea, and maybe Arsenal as contenders for his services imo. I doubt he'd even agree to go to a team without CL football at this point, so that basically leaves ManCity and Arsenal. ManCity and Pep, I don't see them going for Morata. They are going to be after much bigger fish. Arsenal is the one team that could do it, but I just don't see Arsenal finally deciding to spend 60 mil + on a player.

I find it hard to believe that someone would pay 60m for him.

So I guess its just the evaluation on Morata and also what we are willing to pay. Will we give 25 more? If so that Valuation is at 55 mil. Will Madrid but him back and sell him for 5 mil? 10 mil? 15 mil in profit? That we do not know.

Here's hoping we do succeed in keeping him because replacing him is going to be very difficult in this insane market. There might come a possibility where we would even have to settle for a downgrade in the end.

Thankfully Berardi wont be his replacement as Sky reported we are looking at a different profile from Berardi if Morata leaves.
