His current role where he is either playing deepish or wide-ish mean that the chances he is getting are all pretty hard and not ideal for someone low on confidence.

Could do with getting to play as a more limited, more orthodox centre-forward to see if he might get an easier chance or two to break his goalless run.
He had a couple of chances vs Lazio, one very good one, but he refused to shoot. It's almost as if he's scared to shoot. Had chances in other games too (Sevilla is the best example). Very low on confidence.

Being low on confidence when going through a lean patch isn't abnormal for a striker, but with Morata, it's a bit too much.

yeah, i was thinking this when i saw the coppa game.

he's not really having alot of chances to just finish with what he's doing. If we'd play him as a pure poacher, he'd get alot more chances on his own.

That shot where zaza missed the rebound, was quite a good shot tbh. A very, very good save by the goalkeeper.

Remember when we had Matri and Quag shooting 4-5 chances each game, straight at the goalkeepers chest. Morata gets chances and places them next to the keeper, but they saved.

This is important. He's doing it right, but if he's confident, he'll shoot a fraction sooner, bit harder, just a bit better placed and he'd have 8 goals by now

'I gave Bonucci garlic sweets’
By Football Italia staff

Leonardo Bonucci’s personal motivator says he gave the player garlic sweets and told him to 'breathe in the face of Gervinho and Francesco Totti’.

The defender popped up with the winner for Juventus in their top-of-the-table clash with Roma on Sunday evening and for his personal motivator, a unique pre-match preparation may have assisted.

“On Saturday night we spent three hours in the hotel to prepare for the game,” Ferrarini has detailed to Tuttosport today.

“Any new secrets? When we finished our work I gave Leonardo some garlic sweets. Natural products, inedible.

“The soldiers of hundreds of years ago ate garlic to remain strong, healthy and lucid in battle. Leo is a soldier, and eating the sweets is as if he is returning to those origins.

“I told him to breathe in the face of Gervinho and Totti…

“The most important thing was to achieve the objective, to win.”

For the player’s post-match words, however, Ferrarini was less than happy.

“I am angry with Leo now, I do not want to hear him talk about the most important goal if his career as he did after the game.

“He has to stay focused, the most important goal will be the best one and that will always be so.

“New objectives? Forget Roma, to be more aware of his own strength and to have more hunger than the day before.”

lmao

Im'a have to go ahead and post the other one now

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is fired up by getting insulted in the dark and punched in the stomach, said his mental coach.

The Italy and Juve centre-back has for years been working with personal motivator Alberto Ferrarini, who also worked with Alberto Gilardino and Francesco Toldo in the past.

“Over the years I took Bonucci into my basement. Underground. In the dark,” wrote Ferrarini on Facebook.

“There, with a tone anything but kind or sweet, I offended him in every way possible. I judged him. I insulted him.

“If he made even the slightest attempt to glance at me, he’d receive a punch straight to the stomach.

“The objective? To win over judgement, so Leo would always be focused and ignore everything else around him. That’s how I started making him into a soldier.”

"Spain CT Vicente Del Bosque admits Alvaro Morata needs to play more for Juventus to go to Euro 2016."

If Morata doesn't go to the Euros he's going to hold that against Allegri big time. I do believe he'll regain his form and eventually be included in their squad, but if not, i think he'll leave.

it's not like max benched his ass right after his first bad game, he gave him chance, after chance,
after chance...i doubt he would have gotten so many chances at any other top club. he is benched for a reason, all other strikers are in a better shape.

IF he misses the euros, he's got only himself to blame.

You're right but most people do like to blame others for their mistakes.

I don't think Morata blames Max, cause he is playing quite often. I could understand if Zaza blames Max, but not Alvaro. But he is very young, so anything possible.
Anyway, Spain NT has only one wc forward in Diego Costa apart of Morata, who would Del Bosque pick instead of Alvaro - dead Torres and Villa, mediocre Paco. He is not in Aragones situation who ditched Raul from NT.
