I am gonna explain once again my stance on forwards:
SS: a forward that has a supporting role in the attact, most of the times its about creative 10's that can ocassionally score, but sometimes they are fast runners or wide players that open defences, also ocassionally they are tall target men that favor back passing, rather than shooting. Their primary role is to contribute in scoring chances.
They usually score 8-12 league goals per season. More than AMs, less than finishers.
Finishers: Specialised players that are entrusted with the CF role mostly and are the tip of any attack,
their specific characteristic is that they are deadly at shooting, converting a large proportion of their chances, some of them are the full packet, like Drogba, who could create and finish by himself, others are limited to one field of finishing action, like our Pippo who specialised at abusing the offside trap, or Crouch who is focused on headers.
Decent/average finishers, starters good teams, score at least one goal every two games they participate, as the average number of league games vary 28-23, so its roughly 14-16 league goals per season. And maybe 18 once in their carrier.
This is the best we can do, buy an average player after his wonder year, or a couple of years later, mostly to boast, rather than benefit.
The great ones score more than that and with consistency, they end up in champion teams, they average at +16 league goals per season, this is the kind of material Juve ought to have but Marotta cant sign.
Higuain is a typical example, Balotelli, Klose and Dzeko too, strangely, somehow every other Serie A team can find one, but us...
And of course they are the gifted ones that can score up to +20 league goals per season, for at least 2-3 consecutive years, players we can only dream of, because they are and tend to be the most expensive in the transfer market
and unfortunately serve only to distract us from our realistic targets and our chances to actually improve our squad...
We usually aim for a gifted forward and end up getting and average one, instead of focusing at getting one good.
All of the finishers we got average 11-15 league per season, with one or two wonder season, than naturally happen to everyone, so our finisher problem persists...
