i admit in my haste to catch the game i mentioned it as fact when i meant to say "on the premise". But that is the start of the
as for your edit, i dont shut you down but honestly cant bother to teach you very basic widely accepted events, and your reluctance to consider what is clear as day despite your ignorance only makes me less inclined to go through the effort like i said.
I agree with you that the idea that the Quran has no variants is widely accepted by almost all muslims.. and it did strike me as a shock as well when I read about it but muslim as well as non-muslim scholars do not share that idea.. even reported Hadiths (That I can cite) clearly talk about Verses that were completely lost.

I appreciate the ad hominem attacks but my advice to you is to reconsider what you take as facts.. just double check.. don't believe me I am an ignorant bastard.. search for yourself.. thats the best I can do.

i am not talking muslim consensus i am talking historical consensus on events following the death of the Muhammad. And those events present a very strong argument(the strongest of arguments really) as far as qur'an autehnticity goes.
As for what you perceive as ad hominem attacks, once again the ignorance charge is pertaining to this subject and more specifically to historical events in the era that was displayed in what you mentioned. As we all are ignorant to different extent on all subjects. I dont think you an "ignorant bastard", far from it...
