It is a touchy subject and that's why I beg to differ.

They are loosing the respect for each other (if there's any left) the more this conversation goes on and it's pretty clear. They might not be insulting that will lead to perma bans as they are all fairly reasonable but it's how they pick on each other and laughing at them, showing how ignorant they are. This sort of topic leaves consequences because it's not something you will forget, it's how you'll see certain members in different light. This goes on, you think less of them, even if they might not agree, it's how it goes. I'm pretty sure there's a bloodboil going on between Deneb and Alen/Hoori, Hoori and Ze. I find it sad that this sort of topic will do that, when we're all on a football forum. This is like having 5 Andries that don't want to get banned.

No, actually I have no idea if there is anything special at all about his death. Instead of "life" i accidently wrote "death" in my previous post and I edited it. But I specifically mentioned that I don't know about his death and his state then.

Now I believe that there is a God. I can't prove it to you, I can't show my God to you so you can find it stupid that I believe in existence of something which can't be seen. I will not take it as an insult. I, as well as yourself and all the other people, find some things stupid which are probably holy for some others. We don't need to bring reasons justifying our opinions because this is the way we think.

Yes we are unsure but Muslim are perfectly aware that Muhammad broke those images. I didn't invent the story. I actually went through something which the Muslims, themselves, consider as a fact. The Abraham story with the idols is also mentioned in Qoran so Muslims don't need any more reliable sources to believe that. How are they justifying what Muhammad and Abraham did but they can't let it go when someone mocks their beliefs? What's the difference?

I did read what you said and as I said, it was unrelated. Abraham built Kaaba. Years and years after that, there were some people who were keeping their holy cults' images right there. Muhammad broke them out of the Kaaba. Abraham building the Kaaba can't justify what Muhammad did. Suppose that there is a place which has built by some idol worshipers years ago but has turned to an Islamic mosque as time has passed. Now is it right if some people who are now practicing the respective cult come and tear the Qorans in the mosque out of the place? Won't Muslims start an uproar all over the world? Won't they take it as an insult to what they hold in holiness?

Ian, this argument, Muslims are touchy about things has to be the silliest argument in this thread.

Oh come on... They are sooooo touchy. I didn't say right or wrong, but they are touchy. Even "moderate muslims" get up in arms over down right silly things like Danish cartoons. My point was that people should know which buttons not to press with muslims and everything would be easier...

I never said any of that, my point was that every religious believer is touchy about certain things, some more so than others. To me, it's all ludicrous and silly, but if that's how people are it behooves one to acknowledge that fact and deal with it appropriately.

Let me tell you something, it becomes only touchy when people take things out of the line and exaggerate and don't know their limits.

When people cross their limits and don't know how and when to stop then it's only normal to become sensitive and touchy about this.

I'm never too touchy when it comes to religion, but when I see everyone directly or indirectly making fun and putting stupid remarks then it's only normal that I become touchy.

You're just backing up my point here. Of course if someone is talking about Islam and they don't know what they're talking about (according to you), then they are insulting you and your religion, hence you're touchy.

If you read the rest of my post you'd realize that I'm not trying to denigrate muslims or any other religion. I'm merely stating that religion is used by those with capital to control those without and to further concentrate capital in the hands of the few. All religions work this way. If you personally feel the need to believe in something, that's your own business, but when your belief in something infringes on others ability to conduct their lives as they see fit, then I have a problem with it. That is all.

Furthermore, I do not understand why anyone would subject themselves to the laws and customs of such worship under the direction of anyone other than themselves. And finally, I do not understand the need or compulsion to believe in something that there is absolutely no physical evidence to support or to believe in the divinity of a historical figure, or to follow the dogma of a historical figure. Are we not all people in and of ourselves? Are we not the greatest and most powerful creatures that we can perceive? Should we not be the masters of our destiny, each and every one of us?

Life is silly, Ian. Everybody of us is prone to die soon. No? That doesn't give us any area to claim that we are the superior masters on Earth because we can not know the most important issue we are facing, which is how long will we live? People knew since ages that because we are so weak that can not control our own ages and lives, then there is somebody who can. This somebody has to be much greater than all of us, because as scientists proved, the world is ruled by very accurate measures like the seasons, and they proved that any small change would make a very huge problem that threatens the whole humanity.

I know Chance maybe your explanation for our existence, but seeing how life goes on perfectly around me, I beg to differ and I'm totally convinced there is somebody greater than mere chance who controls our environments.
