I don't consider myself to be gay or a fanboy of anything, but according to some members on this forum watching azzurri games makes you both. Even though I have repeatedly made it clear that I support the United States above all else
Everyone is feasting on the goo in this thread.

This might be a ridiculous question, but do players actually get paid for NT games? Like a salary, or maybe some amount for appearing?
Or is it just for the so called honor of representing?
I know the federation/government assigns some bonuses for certain achievements, but is that it?
Actually I don't think this is a ridiculous question at all, I have heard that some players who play for wealthier countries get payed per appearance but I have heard only little about it. I think most countries don't pay tho

Your angry because of wasted time and resources? Thats a lame excuse, there are plenty of young players who get similar training and never play for the national side why is Rossi so special? It pissed me off when he scored twice against us in the confed cup but what can you do, face it, you wouldn't be making such a shit storm about it if he played for Spain or Brazil
Typical BS comment from you. I would still be pissed if he played for Brazil, Germany, or fucking Latvia for that matter. The only reason you're defending this crap is because you like the Azzurri, that's all. If you played in the system, like I did, you'd understand. It's not only about football, but this country was/is a refuge for his family, one in which he even admitted himself that his parents came here to make a living. Yet they're still loyal to Italy. So be it.

You are one more BS post away from going on my ignore list.

Just don't pull crap like your last sentence. I don't have time for false accusations.

I played second tier Pennsylvania ODP, basically the crappy good players system behind the stars, like Rossi's kind.

I know you have mentioned it but not nearly to the extent of Rossi. You seem to have a special fascination with Rossi.
Well, he's played against us already, and has a lot of fans here, you know. If there were tons of Serbia supporters here I'd probably mention Subo more, but there is only one -- Dusan, whom I like. The subject isn't brought up as much.

II don't know the advanced youth football system well as I never played further than my high school varsity side but I can understand how that would piss you off if you were losing out because of players like that, but there are lots of players similar to Rossi in American football teams. In my high school division there was my team and one other that where all white players and the entire rest of the division was made up of immigrant latino players who were American citizens by birth but if any of them ever got good enough do you really think they would choose the American national side? I guess it might be different were you played but here in California I am used to all of the teams being made up of immigrant players who's teams are being payed for by American taxpayer money and are being trained by American coaches but they all still dream of playing for Mexico. But without them my team would have nobody to play against, and surprisingly us white kids out here are pretty good.

I'm not playing much after college; this was before and during high school. I just wasn't fast enough to be useful at a high level.

As a supporter of my country's team, I will not support the likes of the Mexicans or whomever living off the system to play for Mexico. That's what you call treason. I'm not even a hardcore Bill O'Rielly type right-winger who blames immigrants for our problems (in fact I hate those types), but this stuff is too much for me. I care too much about the soccer here for me to bat an eye. People like Rossi enrage me more than anything else because there are folks out there who do give a damn about this place, not just live here for the benefits.

So fack the Rossis, they can go to hell. Perhaps their beloved son can take them back to the promised land and free up some living space for someone who appreciates it more.

Raised in an Italian way?

Okay, then your upbringing might be "Italian" but you are not.

Yes, after spending the first 16 years of his life in America.

And me Germany.
hold on so your saying by being born in a country despite having no heritage whatsoever in that country it makes you, or well in my case australian?

yes i am born here, so yes i am australian but i consider myself more italian than australian.

and there is no reason for rossi not to play for italy, he left as you said when he was 16 and played in the italian youth teams, not to mention the fact both his parents are italian

and your hatred for the rossi family is very stupid, why is it that you hate them?

I don't really care about the Mexicans taking up space on our football teams what pisses me off is everything else they are taking up. California's welfare and health-care systems are being destroyed by illegal immigration. I have nothing personal against these immigrants as individuals, they are mostly good people just trying to make a living and support their families but our social programs really cannot take so many new recipients when half the state isn't paying their taxes and we have idiots in charge who refuse to cut spending and responsibly draw up a logical budget. Illegal immigration is a huge problem here due to our already fragile system being weakened by this liberal over-spending. The fact is that we have morons in charge and immigrants have become a problem simply because there are way to many of them. In comparison to all of my states problems, the publicly funded high school football league training mexican players doesn't really stand out as a huge issue

I disagree, I think Balotelli should play for Italy and Zarate for Argentina. I think it should be the player's decision as to which country they feel they represent. Balotelli has said before that he feels like an Italian because he was raised and learned to play football in Italy, IMO he has more of a right than Zarate just because of his Italian mother. This bloodline argument is stupid.

But it's all the same thing. Whether it be taxes, jobs, spots on a football pitch, all are interconnected. Everything in this world costs money, even funding development teams. You can't dislike one without the other.

Vinni, no offense, but you are indeed a racist with this crap. It proves to us that those who think they're Italian are indeed racist. Your blood argument holds as much weight as the cocaine you weigh from dollar bills you confiscate on a routine traffic stop.

'Cause that would be unfair if they are expected to work their asses off just for the "honor" of representing their country. Especially in our times of globalization.
