Linux for your taste (sorry Naw :D)

Gentoo is a super cool project and I'm really impressed with the longevity and stability of it, even though it doesn't have any significant company backing like Ubuntu with Canonical or Fedora with Red Hat. I installed it in a virtual machine a few months ago when I was experimenting with...

Linux for your taste (sorry Naw :D)

No, I've used kubuntu now for many years. It has a similar level of stability and quality as ubuntu, but I prefer the kde desktop.

Utrecht tijdens mijn studie. En daarna in Den Haag.

@Siamak nice looking desktop! Do you know where that photo is from? It reminds of this little town in Sicily I was in once called Castellamare del Golfo. Mine is much more vanilla kde:

En als de mensen spreken nederlands dan spreken ze toch niet gemakkelijk nederlands waarvan je iets kan grappen of leren, ze spreken echt vol bizarre uitdrukkingen.

Yes, there are lots of them still overseas trying to get back home. Our govt over here works in mysterious ways, you see.

    The official coding thread

No, I think you need to learn from books and try out lots of code examples that you see in books, experiment with them. It's a slow process so you have to be very patient. Some languages like Python are much easier because you can try things and learn from your mistakes. But if you do this in C...

What Are You Doing Right Now?

Great way to start the day for sure! We're in lockdown over here so I haven't left my suburb in 3 months - great time to appreciate all the little things in life. And one of those things is listening to portu podcasts among others.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

I'm sure Ronaldo took the decision about how to talk about his departure very seriously when he knew it could be difference between the legends section and the history section.

    The official coding thread

I mostly agree, but I think c++ is a special case. It's a very demanding language and without using several books I'm not sure if you can make much progress learning it. It's because the language is so old and there are way too many people who know "how to do things in c++" but they don't...

What Are You Doing Right Now?

Love it! I can't tell you how many times I've reminisced about that vacation in portu. I miss it often. Wife's been there too, separately, and we both wanna go again. One day. Oh yes, there is no leaving now. Just keep on buying coffee and avocado here on out until forever.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Yes, it was a great individual performance. But that team wasn't really that great overall. We had some questionable coaches too.
