[Champions League] JUVENTUS 0-2 Bayern München (April 10, 2013)

4-3-1-2 please. Get Giacc central to help the midfield and pin back their mids.

[Champions League] JUVENTUS 0-2 Bayern München (April 10, 2013)

Giacc is a must in 2nd half if we're still chasing the game. He's been in good form lately and the only player who runs at defenders.

    Antonio Conte

Yes that what happens in tournament/cup play. It's not like league and Mancini style belief 'Oh we're not ready for CL, look at so and so'. Capello did f-all in CL with a great team and Mou couldn't win with Chelsea. There's always going to be a small gap between Juventus and the Oil teams so...

Couldn't get it any deeper than the first leg. Peluso - please God no.

Asa should get a rest later. He needs to be there mid-week.

    Antonio Conte

 If teams like Porto, Marseille, Dortmund, Liverpool can pull out CL's, it's not an impossible dream. Hell, even with our super dynasty, we only won 1, so you don't go throwing away opportunities when they present themselves because you don't have Real Madrid's roster.

    Antonio Conte

I hope he's just 'playing dead' as mind games toward Bayern. Serie A is already wrapped up... this CL game is everything right now. I won't be upset to go out, but It will be sad if they just go through the motions. I'd be shocked if he isn't running through some more attacking formations in...

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2013-14)

Unless Neddy is offering some secret shares in FIAT or something, this seems a ridiculous approach.

    Andrea Pirlo

Ah yeah I know. He's always been my fav Italian (non-Juve) player but he don't have the physical ability to just go into 'beast mode'... or else he would've been a trequartista. If Vucinic and Asa were out there, it would've been a very different game.

    Andrea Pirlo

That's ridiculous. Sure Pirlo has the class, but due to physical limitations, he's nowhere near a Zidane. You could replay that game 10 times, same formation/line-up and Pirlo + team wouldn't play any different. You've got Quatri who can't hold the ball or make quick runs, Peluso offering...

    Kwadwo Asamoah

I like Asamoah on the left. Even as a LB in a back 4 he'd do a fine job if needed, little like Essien at Madrid. He may not have a huge offensive influence but he strengthens the midfield because he isn't afraid to hold the ball under pressure and find the right pass. The money was well spent.

    Andrea Pirlo

Wasn't that bad considering the surroundings. These were worse - Buffon Quacktri Marchisio Peluso (for a WB) And I remember him placing 2 perfect crosses on Bonucci's head who missed the goals.

    [CL] Champions League 2012/13

Haha the ref in the Madrid game is certainly in someone's pocket.

    [CL] Champions League 2012/13

Are we even in for Isco? I'd rather him than a wasted chase on a SS.

[Champions League] Bayern München vs JUVENTUS (April 2, 2013)

WHy? Because there's only 3 players in the team prepared to hold the ball and not just take the first option under pressure. It's a terrible situation. Pirlo gets crucified for dwelling on the ball but if you don't try create something, the team gets shut out easy.

    Antonio Conte

Do you think Conte would try it? It's not like the Italian players aren't used to it. A more defensive diamond would be - Pogba-Pirlo-Asamoah Marchisio I don't see what else he can do really.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2013-14)

I agree with most of this but a ball player doesn't always have to be a great dribbler. Just someone comfortable with the ball who can be creative and make one touch passes if need be. An AM like Isco (can't think of others) would make so much difference in certain games. Hell, even Diamanti...

    Fabio Quagliarella

That's rubbish really. Even if it was Iniesta, Xavi and Yaya Toure, they wouldn't be able to do much when 5 defenders and 2 attackers can't hold the ball more than 2 secs under pressure.

Wishlist and General Juve mercato talk (2013-14)

Verratti and a real AM please. 4-3-1-2 would sort out these Germans. Not enough ball players in the team.
