ROME, Nov 6 (Reuters) - The captain of Italy's 1982 World Cup-winning team Dino Zoff was robbed by muggers in Rome as he and his wife returned home just after midnight, police said on Monday.
Zoff, a former Juventus keeper, put up a fight and got a black eye trying to defend himself against four muggers.
The couple eventually surrended their watches, cell phones and billfolds with about 1,000 euros inside.
The attack happened as Zoff returned home after parking his car at a nearby lot in a wealthy northern residential area. The muggers have not been identified.
