Our problem was never in scoring goals, it was in creating chances. If it weren't for players like Del piero and Trez who can convert the slightest of chances into a perfectly fine goal, we would have been in big trouble. We had a huge problem last year, there were times where we could barely string a few passes together against inferior opponents and that was very worrying. Zanetti was great last season but he isn't exactly a creative midfielder per say. We do need someone that can get the ball moving better, we thought Tiago and Almiron would provide that but they turned out to be flops. I thought Xabi Alonso was exactly what we needed in the middle, he would provide the linking up between midfield and attack that we lacked last year. Not signing him was a mistake in my opinion.

Having said that, I still have faith in the central midfield we have now. We are by no means weak in that department. Zanetti is a superb player and it annoys me to see how he is always underrated, even by Juve fans. He was excellent last year and he combined brilliantly with Sissoko.

In fact, our creativity problems were most tangible when Zanetti was injured. I think he makes a huge difference. Not only that but our team seems far more creative now than it was last year. Let's not forget Camo who performed very well in the middle and he can easilly be deployed in that department.

The central midfield has never worried me, I was in fact surprised Juve chased so many central midfielders when our weak point is clearly in the left back position.

How many "creative" players do we need?
It depends on our formation
We're doomed :drill: :drill: :drill:
I told you so:stuckup:
It's not a bad midfield, the Zebras will be fine. Juve have the talent up front to hang around and compete in the league. And there's always bargain shopping in the January market, which can turn some decent dividends. At Pool last summer we were shopping for a center back to add competition and provide a long term solution for Hyypia. When we couldn't get Heinze, we decided to wait until January and ended up with Skrtel for 6 mil who IMO has a great future and was a better buy the Heinze because of Heinze's age and wages.
It is a midfield bound to suffer against teams that now how to defend and being efficient in the counter attacks,
by the x-mas transfer period we will already be out of Europe and the championship will be out of reach, whats the point of making a decision we are bound to regret??
Last year we already risked too much and our team payed those mistakes on the field.
Just because we were lucky enough to reach that high in the standings table, it doesnt mean that we will be so lucky every year.
Inter and Milan has grown more powerful and we did little to catch up on Roma,
not to mention the CL we will face.
Why would waste the season instead of make the right decision now??
When are we going to learn from our mistakes?
We have no more lame excuses this year, it is all our fault.

I saw nearly every match in one way or another, thanks for asking. Either way, we didnt have problems scoring. We did however have problems in defence, particularly early on with the poor Tiago and Almiron and the rookie Nocerino in front of them. I expect Poulsen, Momo, Zanetti, Marchisio to offer the protection and also assist. Wasnt Zanetti the 3rd top assister in the league, IIRC? Sure, Xabi Alonso would have been nice, if not just to see if we could play with so much attacking talent but it seems Tiago will get another chance to turn games when we start to run out of ideas. With the wingers we have plus strikers who can create and score I am not worried about unlocking teams. There will be games again where we cant break teams down so well but every team has those games. I think most fans will be envious of our attacking options and potential.
Exactly! People are saying we are short of attacking power, how with camo, neddy, giovinco, and del who all can run at defenders and go for goal. Trez and iaq as all out strikers and amauri that can both hold the ball and create in or around the goal. Amauri and iaquinta will help defend along with del when he can. You all know neddy isn't afraid to get stuck in and camo for that matter as well. Let's not forget the height we will have in front of goals for corners from all areas of our squad. And "dare" I say that zebina, molinaro, salhim, even chiellini will be contributing in the attack as well with their forward runs (opps forgot de ceglie, zanetti who will provide the needed passes). Poulsen, sisso, marchisio, even zanetti to provide that initial wall along with our hard nosed gladiators at the back and you all know chiellini and olof will take anyone out as the get close plus the best goalie in the world as our final line of defense. We have a wealth of youngsters dying to step on the field with their youthful endless energy to prove their worth. We don't have money hungry egos like the milans, agree with me or not the team has heart. Who's to say newbie ekdal doesn't turn out to be a diamond in the rough and maybe even be the "creative" link you all seem to want. Just because we don't have players with milion dollars nike sponserships doesn't mean we are screwed. Good for milan landing that fat ass, best of luck to him. Good for moratti and berlosconi and their millions, what happens when they are dead? We are financially independent thank god cuz I hate teams with billionaire beneficiaries with open checkbooks, they buy greatness, we earn it. Give the team a chance, and who knows come january we might get another reinforcement. You all begged and petitioned to get the youngsters back, no we have them and you want to spend millions only to have them waste away on the bench???

we're third in Serie-A, have one of the most amazing stadium-projects running and we're playing CL(qualification) this year - How is that MEDIOCRITY?? Go ask milan with their ronaldinho, flamini, zambrotta and what not if CL is mediocrity.

everyone who believes it's because of that inter-fag that we were in serie-b obviously has no fucking idea what happened. You're way too naive buddy... but what am i saying anyway. You'll probably just keep insulting everyone and everything for no reason, so...
If Moggi is coming back, i'll officially quit supporting juventus and will never watch a game again. But that won't happen anyway, sorry to disappoint you. Moggi will keep rotting in his basement and will give silly statements about how great he was from time to time to some shitty press reporter until even that poor chap will get bored off the old mafioso...
is that a promise ??

look around this website, and read the articles that gsol posts, and maybe you'll learn something, kid

Are you saying this only after watching the goal and match tables, or because you have sensed this after watching Juventus playing on the field???
How many Juventus matches have you seen last year?
Do you expect DP and Neddy to last for ever and make all the creativity work all by themselves at this age?
Do you expect them to do that against CL material?:disagree:
Have you seen our tea playing against a solid defense?
Have you seen our team presenting an attacking plan, just for once????
Do you think that tactical awareness of the situation and the team's preparation on a tactical plan have any kind of impact in a game's result??
I asked how many matches you watched, in case you missed the ones we suffered so much in the midfield with our inept tactics and desperate long balls.
In case you have forgotten how lucky we were to score some goals from non chances, in case you have forgotten how much we depend in some players, that are now near retirement.
In case you have forgotten that we have rarely ever won a match without Neddy present...

We played an open game, we risked more and we conceded a lot in the process,
against well oiled teams, with a tactical plan and the teamwork to properly defend as one and hit us back at counter attacks, we stand no chance.
Just like we had no chance in Capello's era, with the difference we even have less tools to efficiently do the job for us now.
This system only worked against inferior or inefficient teams, we used our seer power to go through, but now we lacked this power and it is likely that we will lose our determination, because we already made our point that we are back.

We were supposed to step up and avoid making the same mistakes,
we are about to face stronger teams this year, both domestically and abroad.
We had a whole a year to prepare our team and find a solution to the problems which haunted us for the entire season.

Thats why i was kind of surprised how could you possibly missed one of our most vital ones...
gotta love when someone posts exactly what I'm thinking....saving me a half-hour of typing :malt: :malt: :malt:

Moggi: Italy Still Corrupt

Former Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi insists that Calciopoli has not cleaned up the Italian game, and says that the corrupt figures who want to control Calcio are still able to do so. He also said that those who drove him out of the game were just jealous of his success. Moggi was one of Calcio’s shrewdest transfer men up until the Calciopoli crisis in the summer of 2006.

The 70-year-old received a five-year ban from football for his alleged role in the scandal, meaning that he cannot return until 2011, by which time he will be 74.

The Calciopoli scandal was painted by the press as being the answer to all the apparent corruption in the Italian game, but Moggi says that those who want to run things are still in power.

“Those who still want to control Calcio, still do so,” Moggi told Napolissimo.

“And it was Roma who deserved to win the Scudetto.”

Lucky Luciano also claimed that those who drove him out of the game were just jealous due to the incredible success he achieved at Juventus between 1994 and 2006.

Before arriving at the club the Bianconeri hadn’t won the Scudetto for almost a decade, but Moggi helped transform the team, as they won seven Scudetti (two revoked) in the next 11 seasons, as well as a Champions League, Coppa Italia, and Intercontinental Cup, among other trophies.

“What would I change about my past? Instead of winning lots of championships and cups, I'd win half of them and be less hated,” he stated ironically.

Moggi then spoke about another of his former teams Napoli, who he also led to great success between 1987 and 1990, during the outfit’s Diego Maradona glory years.

”Napoli are a good team,” he said of the re-emerging southerners.

“However to make the leap in quality they are missing a certain type of player. Napoli will have a good season but they certainly wont compete at the top. And I am not sure that the supporters will be content with this because they are increasingly demanding."

Do you guys think there is a shot in hell that the board is saying we are all done in the transfer market, just so liverpool will lower the price. I mean if barry comes i think both liverpool and juve know alonso will not start very many games, and be surplus to requirements, that way his price falls. Problem is arsenal are starting to be linked with him after having flamini leave, and quite possibly gilberto and hleb. Like zann said, i think what will happen is he will probably come in january if everything i've said goes accordingly.

A barry move to Liverpool is looking unlikely at this stage. He might end up at Arsenal instead.I think there's still a chance of Xabi coming to Juventus if Rafa isnt able to get a a decent alternative. It could boil down to the final couple of weeks of the season where Rafa becomes desperate for Barry and ends up accepting Juve's offer for Alonso.Unlikely at this stage, but you never know.

I don't think he's going to arsenal to replace flamini cause they're different players that play different role in the team.

:disagree: arsenal won't pay the money that aston villa wants (certainly not more than what liverpool have offered allready) plus they've just signed nasi. So its unlikely too.

Salman, where's the smoking hot picture of Britney? Not that there's anything wrong with Kate Winslet...

By the way, for those of you discussing our lack of creativity when our "playmaker" Zanetti was out of the lineup (Ouch... it hurts me to admit that he was one of our crucial playmakers - he is be all means a high quality player, but our team is JUVENTUS... which should be synonymous with the BEST. Zanetti should be coming off the bench, not part of the starting 11), I thought that our lack of creativity was most apparent when Camo was out. He was absolutely crucial for us last year...
