remember the first world war started because of a scirmish in the balkans, there is sucha long history of violence and ill feeling here that the bigger countries have always taken an interest in the happenings of the balkan states. of course they all have their own agenda's but if the balkan peoples could get on then there would be no need for them to stick their noses in.
