Well thats what most of us have noticed about Domenech,he has no spine & has no authority of that squad.unfortunately France look like they are gonna crash & burn way too early for my liking:depressed

they def are going to crash and burn this wc unfortunetly, i loved the french team in 98 they were brilliant but god there is a massive difference between that team and this current one even the 2002 squad. i am afraid the french did not learn there lesson from 2002 and r paying the price for the same mistake all over again.

the things this 2006 squad dont have compared to the 98 squad are from my piont of view the following.
- a world class coach compared tot he genius they had in 98 who built a team from scratch.

- the ability of communication between the players on all lines was just spectacular to see.

- the players had the urge and will to do sth for there fans and there country and no one was playing for personal glory what so ever and that kept the team in one piece.

- the fact that the tournement was played in there homeland wasa factor but not a drastic one bec if they did'nt have the squad and spirit they would'nt have won it the way they did.

- the players back then were much younger god zidane looks like a grand dad now he looks very depleted nd ehausted, i will give the coach just one credit and thats getting dibery other than that he is the worest manager i have ever seen i would'nt even trust him with a seria c team.

i think that if the french dont start looking for players who have the potential and the talent i think the french wont be able to build on there 98 sucess and they will soon be forgotten. there continous dependence on zidane will have to change, henery cant score goals out of the blue he needs good support from the midfeild and they lack that alot no support and no team spirit.

I really don't like the way Domenech is wasting so many talents with his idiotic decisions, starting from the players who were called up for Germany.

Well Domenech is like a kid that plays way too much FM coz he purely selects players on past reputation rather than current form & he is extremely biased at that matter to.

Hopefully Zidane's suspension means that Trezeguet will start against Togo. Once again Henry misses a big chance in a big game.

I hope you are right but i think Domenech prefers Saha ahead of Trez:disagree:

Is it just me or has anybody else felt that the quality of this WC has been poor so far?i mean teams seem to be way too cautious & are boring.I cant wait for the knockout stages for some real action to begin.

It's a band I saw in the festival last week, they are called Gogol Bordello and they have a song called 'Start wearing purple', if you like punk you should check them out. They are quite exotic, mixing gypsy music with punk rock.

Personally i have found it fantastic with so many teams playing very well and punching above their weight
Only 3 teams have been below par as far as i can see and they are England, Brazil and France, the rest have played as well as they can and there have been many very good games. How could you not have enjoyed Japan vs Croatia, it might not have had goals but the effort by both sides was great and the miss was entertaining too. Australia were brilliant. The only group i have termed as poor is France's group with all the teams being from average to poor.

Domenech is not my idea of a manger but it seems his hands are tied as rumours abound that Henry does not like playing with Trez but it was stupid of him to have left Guily and Mexes at home. Thuram has been poor and he is so abysmal in the air its untrue
It was funny when Trez came on for Zz in the last 3 minutes and had a smile on his face , thinking at least I am captain for a while, with the likes of Thuram, Vieira and Henry in the team:D

True mate, but seems that they don't have an adequate player to replace Zidane!
Not to mention that their coach is making the same mistake they made at WC 2002.

4.7 yellow cards per game in this World Cup, while about .5 less in 2002 and 1.5 less in France 98. These referees are going mad with the fucking cards.

Appalling numbers as far as I'm concerned.

During the qualifiers Ireland were robbed of two wins agianst Israel from late goals and now France could go out because of a late goal.

I am not saying that Ireland deserved to qualify, they payed the price for resting on their leads. I am saying that I find it amusing that France may be out of the competition for doing the same thing.
