i also read something about editing the offside rule to only include players within the penalty area, does that have any truth to it?

imo it would be stupid, seeing as defensive tactics would be completely changed

why didnt u come out with this statement before. you said that i was under no illusion that italy would win and that your already counting italy out of this world cup. I dont kare if ur with the team or not. Your saying something that shouldnt be said about My team and 1 million other italians out their. Saying Italy doesnt have a chance is almost like turing your back on them. So for me to stand up and defend them is my right. I dont kare how many years you've supported them because from your statements i no that your not the best supporter, when they are close to winning your their but when they dont play good you write them off. Great Fan!

As I've said, I'm simply being objective and basing my view on the football we've played in our first 2 games. I wonder how many other Italians felt the same? I know my brother and father did. Don't question my loyalty and love for my country when you don't know anything about me and foolishly decide to base an opinion on one post I wrote.

Come Thursday, I'll be there cheering the team on, like I was against USA, like I was against Ghana and other matches before.

BTW, what is your connection to Italy, I see you live in Canada.

your what i hate to see. A person saying his country wont win. thats pathetic in my opinion, so many people have great love for their country and great love for soccer. Even if italy doesn't win which i think they have a great chance in winning i will always support one national team and one club team. What will happen if juve go on a bad streak, if u are a fan of juve will u leave like the rest of the band wagon jumpers............probably so, and ill pobably give u a kick in the ass and a get the hell outta here.

Well said ,Morra10.

I can't see that ever happening. Honestly, that's a change equally drastic as putting in an extra goal.

I know there is obviously some truth in that, and does seem rather funny as Morra10 is indeed claiming this profound love for the country, but IMO supporting the Azzurri is something completely different than rooting for Italy. After all you support the Azzurri because of their players. I'd like Italy to win the WC because Del Piero, Cannavaro, Nesta, Inzaghi, Pirlo and Zambrotta are Italians, it's as simple as that. I like them, both as players and as personalities.

I was actually about to add "thats like playing with round nets" when i was posting :scared:
Or like Jan Mulder always says: "which fuck invented black nets and round goal posts. Is it still football we're talking about?"

btw i was born in foggia , last time i checked its in italy. i guess the connection between me and italy isn't to strong seeing how i go back and visit my hometown every year. I moved when i was young because my dad thought i would have better opportunities here. I love how you are angry at me for questioning my loyality and then you do the exact same thing. Most of the italian fans here arent italian. so what. And if you think italy actually played bad against ghana and beat them 2-0 with ghana never really getting a good scoring chance, your alot dumber then i thought.

and many italians could of critized the team, and many did. I didnt and i no they played bad. How the hell would you feel if your del piero and the whole fucking country isnt behind you.

didnt adidas develop a ball with a chip in it, so it can sense whether its in play or not?? that was over a year ago, they said itd be used in the wc...
yeah but they tested it, and the system tought there was a goal everytime the ball crossed the line for a goal kick or a corner.

The geeks are back in the lab.

Even a chip system wont be 100% to trust. Of course it should be preciser than the eyes of the ref, but still...

btw, do you guys also think that Football must be one of the most difficult games to ref? The amount of things to check, the behaviour of the players, the media, the pressure,...

I asked out of interest, not as a weapon to use against you. Also, I am not angry at you (as you seem to be towards me), but I am eager to define my views for your benefit as you are haveing a great deal of trouble understanding this.

And I never said we played badly against Ghana.

It wouldn't be if they used modern technology, like a lot of other sports do. I do think football is one of the most corrupted sports.

you know what...my bad. Alright. I just hate to see that when italy wins everybody loves eachother and then when they lose they want to blame someone. I no they havent played the best football so far. and i no they looked bad playing the u.s.a. But they tied as u.s team that was hungry to win and a u.s team that is 5th in the world (for some stupid reason). it wasnt a good result but because they played so bad it wasn't a terrible result.
