This Spain team reminds me of the young German side of 2010 that had young Özil, Müller, Gundogan etc

Loads of young talented players in this side but I can't see them winning it though especially with Morata/Ferran Torres leading the frontline.

This is the kind of dynamism Argentina are missing. Agile CM's who can make runs into the box and athletic wingers/fullbacks bombing down the flanks.

Instead they have washed up Papu Gomez/Di Maria and two static CM's

Is this new Spain this good, or Costa Rica this bad? I thought Costa Rica was a tough team to play against in recent years, at least tough and gritty defensively (they only conceded 8 goals in 14 qualifying matches) but this is just a complete drubbing. 4-0 @ 60 minutes, 0 attempts at goal for CRC and Spain has 85% possession.
No idea but that 2014 team was pretty decent and I noticed a lot of faces from that team today. That generation gotta be old af now.

Yeah. I just recall 2014 team was tough, and even 2018 that didn’t get out of group still only conceded 5 goals in 3 matches, and then qualifying for this WC, conceding 8 goals in 14 matches. They seemed pretty organized defensively. But this is crazy. Absolute massacre. Looks like the worst team at the World Cup lol

Pleased for Japan. They have always been good to watch but lacked an edge in the past. They look to have found that, even in 2018 they were impressive.

I hope they can make it out of the group.
