Have you seen this Belgium team when they were outsiders? I haven't, but I'm looking forward to the match against Brasil, when you won't have to dominate and you can hit them on the break. You certainly have the players for that.
Once against Spain and we got massacred. Our biggest issue will always be Vertonghen imo. This was not his first mistake at all. I just don't see us winning against Brazil, even purely because of him.

Of course not. But what you get after a game like today is people saying Japan deserved to win or deserved ET. They didnt. It took Honda two minutes to take that freekick, because he wanted it to be the last kick of the 90 minutes.

And Japan was doing little things like that all game, on top of the incredible tactical performance they had.

But it does tell you that Japan was the lesser team all day long.

Lesser team in terms of talent. They had a better performance for large parts of the game dude

I think Brasil is simply a better team and they deserve to win against you.

But it doesn't make sense to say Italy deserved to go through. They simply didn't win when it mattered.
You literally needed a goal in the last 10 seconds of the game to not get sent home against Japan. You certainly didn't deserve anything.
Oh, the contradiction.

So. Italy didn't deserve to go through because they couldn't win when it mattered. But when Belgium do what they need to do when it matters, they don't deserve it either.

It's fine to say you're rooting for the underdog, but don't make it about who deserves what. Especially when your logic is all over the place.

When people say something's easy the opposite tends to happen. I don't have a favorite for next match, Belgium is a dangerous team when in tune.
Won't be easy for Brazil. Belgium oozes quality despite their clear weaknesses.

Besides Brazil ain't that good. Who is at this World Cup?

No. They didn't. There wasn't a single moment in which Japan dominated.

That's not the point. Belgium dominated the entire game. Japan played their part perfectly, but that doesn't mean they were better.

Brazil right now are better than us by a mile. We need a miracle.

Japan were the better team for like 60 minutes of that game. Belgium only showed urgency after their first goal and this time with their superior talent it was enough to scrape through.

It's beyond me how the players, the fans and the media of a country can be so arrogant when they have achieved absolutely nothing to justify such attitude.

What's your prediction for tomorrow's game?

Italy at its peak had lots of games where they wouldn't dominate, but would deserve to be winning

Anyways I'll be rooting for Belgium against Brazil

It's annoying and frustrating.

Japan deserve all the praise they get. But FFS, Belgium do deserve some praise and did deserve the win.

Everything depends on whether Brazil exploit our weaknesses well. Their midfield and defense seems a bit more solid than ours, but I rate our attack more highly, especially because of our options on the bench.

I'm not Japanese, and this team has been pretty crap for a while. But Nishino was always a good coach and won lots with Gamba Osaka playing well so he should stick around. It was laughable that he was blacklisted,
Why was he blacklisted?
I personally love seeing national teams employing coaches from their respective nations, like Senegal and Japan for exemple, much more endearing then seeing some old washed up that was never good european coach that doesn't give a shit a la Zaccheroni

No. Honestly Japan deserved to lose. Belgium is fundamentally flawed and we are a silly team. Vertonghen's defending is shocking and once again it nearly cost us.

I am also impressed with Japan. From their perspective they played a nearly perfect game. I got to say, if I was a neutral fan they'd have all my sympathy.

But they did not deserve to go through or even make it to extra time. Belgium was better for the vast majority of the game and did have more chances too.

We deserved to win. Plain and simple.

Only reason Japan deserved to lose was because they threw away a 2 goal lead and had too much respect for a team that was at the same caliber as them. I'm not talking individuals, Belgium's bench>>Japan's starting lineup, I mean as a team, as a unit, and even in terms of relevence in world football, Japan and Belgium as at same level.

I didn't make it about who deserve what. No one is disputing the fact that Belgium won, however they only deserved it because they actually won, not because they're the better team.

What?

Your first paragraph is exactly why a country would be arrogant. Are you stupid?

We just had more chances than Japan, dude. In the end that's what it's all about.
