Thing is Griezmann is so much better playing in a front 2 like he does for Atletico madrid rather than some sort of interchanging front 3 like today. France's best front 2 combination right now would have to be Giroud and Griezmann, Giroud gives them that focal point and Griezmann likes to play between the lines, they've proven to be the best pairing so far... the problem is can France really afford to drop someone like Mbappe doing so? it's a big call

no, Mbappe and Griezmann, as well as Pogba and Fekir, can all come out wide when necessary. but thats their best midfield (maybe Nzonzi instead of Kante, but not necessary) and attack from players they called up, and it has all their best players in natural positions. also, theyd have Dembele and Lemar off the bench if necessary. and they also have Mendy and Sidibe who are probably better options at fullbacks even after their long injuries
