:agree: They took the money out of Serie A and we see what happened. It's cyclical, so Italy will bounce back eventually. Faster if they make some changes to their system.

That's what I was getting at when I mentioned "system". Needs be a change with way things are done. Football is a global sport, you cater to it or you get left behind.
i doubt that would happen because the difficulties of this system are entrenched in the culture as a whole, let's put it this way if you had to get some administrative permit would you rather try to get it in england or italy

I like Serie A as much as any other league, but you can't argue that the quality is the same as it was pre-2006. Calcopoli and the World Cup win really set the league back tremendously.
How did the world cup win harm the league?

I mainly blame Calciopole, I mean it made the "two best players of the world" (Fifa Best Player of the Year Award, Cannavaro & Buffon) leave the league. I realise this is just symbolic, but it show how much Serie A was affected by that verdict.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said in interview that Mario Mandžukić will stay at Bayern. They have already talked with his agent and they will renew the contract which will expired in 2016. So Mario will not come to us! :frown:

No, thats not what Rummenigge said..he said:

"He has a contract with us until 30 June 2016, and I told his agent in Marrakech that we’re certainly prepared to consider extending his contract well before it expires. We have absolutely no intention of letting Mario go.”

http://www.fcbayern.de/en/news/news/2014/karl-heinz-rummenigge-chairman-statement-040114.php

It sounds similar, but there is a fine line between "they ll renew the contract" and "we’re certainly prepared to consider extending his contract well before it expires".

He is just saying, what every sane official would be saying to not let any negativity arise.

Lewandowski AND Mandzukic sounds good, but Pep loves being flexible and other options r for example Müller and Götze +young talent Green. So sometimes Pep ll decide to play with false 9, even mostly a natural striker is preferred. So Mandzukic would just be a weapon for special circumstances and I very much doubt, that he would be happy with playing every once in a while..u were also able to witness some prima donna behaviour already so Mandukic leaving is definitely a possibility, no matter what Rummenigge and Co. stating now.

The question is why aren't billionaires compelled to invest in Italy?
a lot is to do with how Italians don't appreciate foreign ownership in their country, like a sense of pride of keeping things Italian. The other is how unprofitable it is for investors and rich owners to invest in a country with such bureaucracy and high tax rates, of course in recent times that has changed slightly with the likes of thohir changing that but even he is no abramovic

Well, he's a great player but doesn't really fit in in our current system. He's also not good enough to change our formation just to accomodate him, probably meaning limiting Vidal or Pogba.

I think Marotta has more say in buying players then the coach. No worry

It showed the governing body of Italian football that they didn't need to change anything domestically. Not even in the wake of Calciopoli.
