Agreed, he's never going to reach the top of his game in Barca. 20M in the Summer, see what happens.

As for Criscito, no idea what he'd cost but he's probably the best left back we can realistically buy so he should be chased.
i was thinking if we get menez for free in the summer or at really low cost in the winter then there would be no need for vucinic so therefore we could do a swap deal including him for crisito maybe add like 3-4 million. so we would get criscito for 4m+vucinic or something like that.

All we know is that Conte seemingly wants Wingers so we'll assume that we're aiming for a 4-3-3

Tevez either starts out of position or starts at Llorentes expense. I find that more likely than us looking for a 4-2-3-1 where 2 of our best players won't even be in the team, just so Tevez and Llorente can play together.

The problem is we're linked to various strikers and Wingers atm, but no matter who we buy one of our current players will be sacrificed to a different role or even the bench

4-3-3. Tevez or Llorente is sacrificed

4-2-3-1 Pirlo and Marchiso are probably both sacrificed

4-3-1-2 No width, unlikely considering we're after wide players

3-5-2 Won't even work when Pirlo goes, there will be absolutely no creativity in the midfield compared to 90% of the teams we'll face in Europe. Would only work with 2 top wide players coming in, and an upgraded striker or perhaps an expensive attacking mid.

433 with Tevez given the ability to roam around the final third.
Thats like a 4-3-1-2. You can't give tevez freedom to roam in a 4-3-3 because then you have a winger on one side and then on the other side you will force the fullback to push forward. We could do that but then it allows the team to counter on that flank with one less person

Yeah it's unbalanced, so our main goal of adding real width to our team would be undone.

Either way, I really can't see Tevez and Llorente being happy when we change formation. One of them will be, not both.

Yea that's a serious worry. Replacing Buffon and Barzagli won't be a simple task. I wouldn't be too worried about Pirlo we can get a different type of creative player.
And, if Juve are lucky, said creative player might be half as good as Pirlo...

From my perspective the most plausible targets for winter mercato are: Biabiany, D'Ambrosio, Jorginho and Menez. I do not think that there is possibility we will splash out round sum for someone expensive. When it comes to Biabiany, I heard that there is an issue with evaluation of the player. Parma wants a lot of money and their demans are very near to 15m for whole card. This is just an exaggeration and I hope Marotta has back-up plan.

D'Amrosio's contract talks are stalled at the moment, and he is another noteworthy player to take out for free. The problem is that Napoli and other teams are interested as well. The same about Menez, he would be really chaep but we need to beat competiton in order to get him. As a result I think that we will acquire one or two players from that short list mentioned-above in first sentence. Jorginho as Pirlo replacement and for example Menez.

Conte's old favorite 4-2-4 with Vidal and Pogba in midfield and two wingers. That would be so much fun to watch.

Guys, the only certainty I could deduct from the last 100 comments is that sweeping changes are coming. The irony here is that the previous 10k posts weren't much different, but now it seems there is a method to this madness:
1. life after Pirlo
2. Wingers/Wide players
3. Back four again.

How are we going to achieve that with 15-20 mil expenses at most, as the majority here believes, is beyond me though. Either we will sell big in the summer and Marotta will play The Bargain Hunter or simply we won't get quality in one market.
