Pirlo's Beard

That's overly ambitious tbh
If he doesn't want to sign a new contract, I think 2 new first team players plus a bit of cash is more than fair enough

If he does have a great WC, his value could go up a bit but I can't see us getting 100M+

Yeah I think with Coentrao + Di Maria, our starting XI would be better.

Then using our own money, we can get somebody like Nani and some improvements on the bench.

I know we've been linked to Romulo and he's looked solid in the (admittedly few) games i've seen of him this season. Players like him who could come cheap and improve our bench would also be welcome in the Summer

So, 2 possibly 3 new faces in the starting XI, coupled with better depth at CB (Bonucci would be the 1st choice bench option, he's good enough for that tbh) and better depth in other areas like hopefully wing-back would be great. And from what I can tell, it's not exactly unrealistic either.

First time I can slightly agree with you. When having these discussions I like to picture the entire team and see if it it's better than the other alternative.

Gigi
Licht - Barza - Chiellini - Coentrao
Vidal - Asamoah
Nani/Cerci/Menez - Tevez - Di Maria
Llorente

Looks, to me, better than what we have on paper right now. IF we could somehow get a better winger for the RW it would be a no brainer, but I don't know which winger we could realistically get for 25m EU who would be better than that.
pedro. and he would cost less than 25m.

but honestly, if jvuentus des get spending money, it should all be on suarez. everyone else is cack when compared to how much of a lift he would give this team

i like that formation (even if i hate to see a formation without pogba) just one thing that i would change. if nani is the player we get then i would put Di Maria on the right and Nani on the left.... thats the only thing that bothered me

That is a team that I am dreaming for. 4-2-3-1 is my favourite formation.

I love it, and I honestly I think its possible with the sale of Pogba. Which is unfortunate, but it should be considered if we can assemble a team like the one you posted.

that 4-2-4 formation is a terrible use of the team to be quite honest.

you are limiting vidal and asamoah, both who contribute majorly to juve's attackign play to midfield holding durties only. sure they are excellent at it, but you are not getting the best out of them

i'd drop llorente in favor of another midfielder

I think Asamoah is perfect for that position. We might be limiting Vidal's attacking game but he is excellent defensively and if you have guys like Nani, Tevez, Di Maria and Llorente up top, I don't think we'd be needing much of Vidal's attacking prowess.

and teams that use/d the same formation were looking for vidal (bayern, real, manchester). there is a reason in that. it wouldnt limit his offense if the other CM is backing him so he could make his offesive runs (not as much as now but still they will be very useful)

When Pirlo extends his contract for two more years, it means Conte will continue to revolve the team around him. Whether that is the right decision to be a team around a soon to be 35 year old who really knows.

Nonetheless, the question is whether we are better off with the likes of a di maria and coentrao and no pogba for the next few years OR can we be successful with pogba in the team and hope that we can still sign players like Nani and Cerci without that huge cash injection and whether they can take us to the next level.

Another position we need to start thinking about is the long term replacement for Buffon.

guys, would you go back to using pirlo as a treq, or pogba as a deep play maker, or zambrotta as a winger, knowing what kind of players they became in different positions?

and quite frankly, saying that you would rather limit vidal, so that llorente or nani do the work upfield is, well a bit short sighted.

nani 2013/2014: 10 games . 1G 0 A
Vidal 2013/2014: 38 games. 16G 5A

nani 2012/2013: 21 games. 3G 5A
Vidal 2012/013: 44 games. 15G 11A

nani 2011/2012: 43 games. 12G 13A
vidal 2011/2012 35 games. 7G 4A

so you have 2 players. one who is incredibly fit, and gets better and better offensively every year, and another who is injury prone, inconsistent, and his stats get worse every year. but you guys want to sacrifice vidal's play to make room for this loser?

cmon people

Yeah for sure, you want to get the best out of your best players and vidal is our most vital player these days, even if the world revolves around Pirlo.

buffon
lich barz Chiellini LB
RW vidal Pogba LW
Llorente Tevez

that wouldn't be such a bad line up with a decent LB and two wingers.

i wouldnt give away Pogba unless we get Ronaldo or Messi... However, if he really wants to leave then sell him like this...
1. tell him not to say in public he wants a transfer,
2. wait for him to beast around in the world cup,
3. sell for 120M or 2 world class players + 60M

Too much FIFA for you.

4-3-3 is perfect for our midfielders. Imagine Vidal, Pogba, and Asamoah/Marchisio. All able to change roles and attack/defend when needed. This way, the team is more unpredictable plus they can take shifts with different roles, keeping them fresher throughout the game. Use Llorente as the center forward and you have someone who can play one-twos, head the ball, hold the ball, and be a perfect striker. Stick Tevez on one wing, let him be able to move centrally at times and you've got a dangerous attacking threat from all over the field. As long as we have a good LW too. Pedro would be perfect.

So Di Marzio said last night Conte is pushing to get Nani and we'll do everything to get him.

If we can get him for around 10-12 million I think that would be a steal. Injuries aside he's got fantastic ability.
