I still cannot see how people have not realised that 352 won't work next season. Look at champions league performance in the group stages with this 352:

2013-14: 3 Draws 2 loses 1 win

2012-13: 3 Draws 3 Wins

not good enough and considering that we had fairly average groups :facepalm2:

Dude, please stop posting!!!

It has nothing to do with the 3-5-2... that's just a number... if we transformed to some of the 4-3-3's you have suggested, we would play in the exact same way, the problem being, that when attacking, we would now only have one forward. The way our team works, with our wing backs pushing up, mean we almost play a 3-3-4 when we are in control of the game. A 4-3-3 could prove useful in some situations, but not because we write a different formation on the paper - because we would fit our style of play to the situation.

Seems more like you want us to play like Dortmund etc.
They play a very direct, aggresive and counter-attacking-like style, which we don't... Please get it man. Our results in Europe is not only a result of formation, but also of the quality of players, marginals, form at the time of the respective games etc. etc. There are more to it than just wheter we are playing 3-5-2 or 4-3-3.

You are (almost) single-handly destroying this forum. Why does every second post here have to be from you screaming about 4-3-3'n'shit? Please be a little more nuanced...

In the mean time more and more rumors about problems with Pogba's new contract. If he doesn't renew it's obvious he'll be sold. Real, PSG and MU :)lol:) interested.

It would suck if we had to sell but tell you what: Di Maria + Coentrao + cash would be a huge upgrade for this team (even though the deal doesn't look possible right now).

Somebody do something about Rakib ffs.
There is an ignore option. And why do you guys feel the need to reply? Ignoring someone over the internet isn't doesn't require crazy efforts.

Me hurt? By someone like you? Oh please.
Excellent, then dont trow a tantrum, leave that to the assigned girls to do so here.
Belgian people are supposed to be good at seeing everthing relative. We must bring this forward, and not be easely offended by peasant comments.

I mean, we allready got a certain group of immigrants for that.

Thats because people with an IQ higher then 60, that are not dramaqueens and dont have a retarded 433 agenda, can look at the our CL performance, and see the obvious issue.

- Our team had improved as a unit and was stronger organised
->however, our the individual form from the defenders was disgusting, leaking straight blunders. 7 in like 14 games. That had nothing to do with formation

- Llorente wasent settled in yet. When he was we became MUCH better, but it was late in the group
- Apart from defenders, overall we didnt play with the right motivation in the first few games

- Both issues had us forced to not lose in the final game. And we know what happened there.

Oh, add the crapton of silverware and records our 352 is getting, and you know enough.

So, no please kindly go away with your formation nonsense, and stop pretending you know something about tactics. You dont.

After yesterdays game I highgly doubt Madrid would do Di Maria and 30m
Yet, i bet you the rumors of it happening will tripple

I see rakib still posting nonsense all tha time. welcome back zach, finally some quality posts here.

as stated before me: 352 is not the problem, it isnt the reason we failed in CL this year. Sometimes you need luck too + zachs post. EL trophy would not entirely fix that (prestige and money loss), but it would make it a great year for us.

For next year we need a quality 3rd striker (Osvaldo) + an adequate 4th. I hope Gio is our 5th choice next season. Who to bring? I dont know - dont think a young berardi is right for that role. But someone who can drop deep like tevez.
We also need a better 5th midfielder to provide rotation (padoin is a perfect squad player - 6th choice at CM, 3rd at WBR) - preferably a player who can also play pirlo role (cause he will play less games next year i would think), but if not marchisio looks very good to me as a regista.
Caceres could replace Barza in the starting lineup if he is still very injury-prone as he has proved he can play for Juve. If Barza is finished, than a Ranocchia or sth like that could be ideal.
We also need some quality cover for Asa, but Peluso is still good enough for 3rd option.

Throw in a winger and Pepe (or a 4th striker who can play on the wing) and we have plenty of tactical options aswell.

One thing Zach, your input on Immobile. He's 24, nearing the 20goals (I think he'll hit that number) this season at Torino, you feel he's ready to come back? Get rid of Osvaldo and Quag, potentially Gio too, I'd retain Vucinic (I'm biased like that).

If we did sell Pogba to Madrid for Di Maria + 30-40

In : Di Maria, Osvaldo, Youth forward,2 wingers (Nani+Menez), cm, lulic
Out: Quag, Giovinco, Peluso, Vucinic

Total Cost :
Osvaldo 10-15m
Menez free
Nani 10m
Back up cm 10-15m
Lulic-Quag+5m
youth forward 10

So we would spend anywhere from 45-55m

4-3-3 :
------------------------------------------------------Buffon/Storari

------Licht/Isla/Caceres---------Barzagli/Caceres/Bonucci-----------Chiellini/Ogbonna/Bonucci-------------Asa/Lulic

-----------------------Vidal/cm------------------------Pirlo/Marchisio------------------Marchisio/Asa

------------------Tevez/winger-----------------------Llorente/Osvaldo--------------------Di Maria/winger

3-5-2

---------------------------------------------Buffon/Storari

------------------Barzagli/Caceres------------Ogbonna/Bonucci---------------Chiellini/Ogbonna

Licht/Isla/Caceres-----------Vidal/cm----------Pirlo/Marchisio------------Marchisio/Asa------------Asa/Lulic/Di Maria

--------------------------------Llorente/Osvaldo---------------------Tevez/Immobile

Something like this is very realistic however if we did get a player of Di Maria's caliber I doubt we would still play with a 3-5-2

I would aim for more quality at the winger spot opposite Di Maria.

Conte can even give his mythical 4-2-4 a shot with Di Maria and a winger with similar work rate.

Marchisio-Vidal
RW-----------------------Di Maria
Tevez
------Llorente

But then again there's Pirlo so playing with 2 CMs is out of the question. 4-3-3 is our only hope.

Zizinho, are you an Egyptian Man Utd fan by any chance? Also, do you have a preferred team in Spain?

- - - Updated - - -

If we got 30-35 million + Di Maria, I'd go for someone like Griezmann, not fucking Cerci.

Well, there are fundamental problems here

- Di maria absolutely isnt a wingback
- but we cant afford him in the first place
- tevez is not a winger and not effective on the wing, he must play central

Considering the exodus of strikers apart from llorente and tevez, it seems a good idea to get immobile back here.
