Because Della Valle wants at least 30 million euros and he is constantly injured.

If we have an opportunity to swap a player like Quag with a reduced fee for Jovetic, we should consider it. However, spending more than 20 million euros on him is too much of a gamble.
25mln at most and I think Viola would paper wrap him and mail to Turin and maybe that's just me but I believe he's worth it. If Matri was worth 17 then he's worth 25. And he is not constantly injured.

Pick a scenario. :)

1) Jovetic 30M
2) Verratti and Muriel 35M
There's no way they will sell Muriel and they won't sell Verratti as well so soon. Stop dreaming about it! :D

Buck,

Why would Jovetic do worse than Giovinco and Matri? Who both have proven to be subpar here.
I'm not saying he'd do worse. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. I was merely pointing out the major flaw in your post. (Regardless of which specific player you'd come up with.)

I also do not agree with Matri & Giovinco having been subpar overall. But maybe my definition of subpar is different from yours.

Perhaps they will consider lowering the fee since they now have Giuseppe Rossi and won't need him as much but I'm skeptical.
He is perhaps not constantly injured but he often is. He is too injury prone for my taste.

He's a great player when fit, though.

3). Ancelotti sacked and Verratti pushing for a Juve transfer. We offer 15m € and sign him outright. This leaves us with 25m € and here we sell Padoin and Immobile of a total 10m €. Equals 35m € and we sign Suarez after he's been pushing for an exit over the entire summer. Suarez on deadline day - 30-35m € :matri:

RVP is injury prone as well but it seems to be a pretty wise transfer nonetheless

We should take the economically best option

Vucinic, Llorente, Matri, and some crap will do for the frontline. The rest of the team is done. Especially since Peluso is starting to grow rapidly, and caceres is proving more and more trustworthy at lb

Would Jovetic come for quag+ <20 mil ? do it.
Would we be able to get Ogbonna for a good price ? Do it.
A transfer merry go round happens and we can snatch a great striker for the right price ? Do it.

only one thing is certain at this point. We have to sell De Ceglie.

oh, so we have 65 mil to spend this summer ? considering we have to pay ~22 mil for isla asamoah and peluso ?
Considering the increased wage bill will decrease the money available for transfers ?

Oh fakkk I forgot the ~20m to Udinese... okay. I say we sign Suarez for all we got then. And yes. Sell De Ceglie!!!!

because he'd have to after his impressive performances in CL and Ligue 1. he's performed on a bigger stage and that proves he's not just a serie b superstar = beppe would be more generous.. but as just posted i take back the verratti idea - he'll have to come in installments or the next year

Benedikt Hoewedes' contract expires in 2014. But i believe he's most likely going to Bayern probably.
Have you any basis for that aside from him being a good player in the Bundesliga?

Nothing wrong with an attacking line up consisting of Llorente, Matri, Jovetic, Giovinco, Vucinic
Don't see the need to have five of that standard/cost.

Re-sign Zalayeta and sell Giovinco.

What happens if Llorente doesn't work out? Then we're stuck with what we have and that isn't good enough. We cannot take that risk.
That's a ridiculous argument.

If Verratti is available for anything under 20M then I think you have to do it. We're talking about such a rare player. A regista like him, a young Pirlo if you will, is how many times more rare than a good striker? And he is Italian and wants to be here.

And we can have him for the next 10-15 years.

He also had to last year and we lost him over that. Clear and simple. But seeing as he brought Pogba also understandable. No need for him now, certainly not at that stupid price. He'll get disinterested there and his price will definitely drop in a year or 2-3. As you said, then may be the time...
