I think we'll give #10 to someone over the summer. Be it a new signing or simply Giovinco i shall not tell. Point being; we need a new #10 to fill the void and we sure as hell have the money.

Attacking department:
Out:
Matri/Quagliarella
Bendtner
Anelka

In:
Immobile/Gabbiadini/Boakye/Belfodil
Suarez/Jovetic/Sanchez
Llorente*

Attack for 2013/14:
Vucinic, Giovinco, Llorente, Matri/Quagliarella, Immobile/Gabbiadini/Boakye/Belfodil, Suarez/Jovetic/Sanchez

Personally I hope for Suarez but whoever of the three should get #10 IMO

ST: Llorente, Matri/Quagliarella, Immobile/Gabbiadini/Boakye/Belfodil
SS: Vucinic, Giovinco, Suarez/Jovetic/Sanchez
No way, Suárez can't touch #10
Love him as a player, but he's a prick and a douche. I don't want him any near to that number. He can get #7, though.

ST: Llorente, Vucinic, Giovinco, D. Villa, Matri/Quagliarella/Gabbiadini/Immobile

CM: Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah, Giacherrini/Poli/Verrati

LWB: Kolarov, De Ceglie/Peluso

RWB: Lich, Isla, Padoin

CB: Chiello, Bonbon, Barza, Caceres, Marrone, Sorensen/Doria/Diakite

GK: Buffon, Storari, Branescu/Leali/Rubinho

Thats enough to get double title next season :D

If Verratti is available for anything under 20M then I think you have to do it. We're talking about such a rare player. A regista like him, a young Pirlo if you will, is how many times more rare than a good striker? And he is Italian and wants to be here.

And we can have him for the next 10-15 years.
that's just :sergio: 20m for another midget... I'd rather deposit that $$$ in a bank for 25 years and buy 2040's messi by the time the deposit passed :p

and what's with this obsession with finding pirlo's heir? :sergio: ffs pirlo is quite 'nobody' for us, finding platini's/baggio's/zidane's/del piero's heir is much more important and make sense for us :agree: who the hell care with a regista when we can look and find the next great fantasista/trequartista?

We need that "special" SS to make that leap in quality in Europe. Serie A isn't and shouldn't be an issue for the foreseeable future, seeing as we are at least a decade ahead of other teams in terms of having our own stadium, marketing, finances, etc...

Our defence is arguably the best in Europe (9/10), and our midfield is probably 2'nd to only Barca (9/10). Clearly, where we need upgrades is the forward line which I rate as a 6.

Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, and with guys like Caceres and Marrone coming off the bench (maybe recall Masi or Sorensen) is a very strong CB department. Licht, Isla, Asmoah, and Peluso for the RWB and LWB positions are good enough. We don't need to spend too much on a bench player, or splash 20+ million to replace Asamoah in a position which he has so far excelled in (even though it isn't his natural position).

For the midfield, we have Vidal, Pirlo, and Marchisio, with Pogba coming off the bench. Verratti would be great, but he isn't a priority just yet, and I don't see him leaving PSG after only one season. Let's not forget that both Marrone and Asamoah can deputize in midfield as well. We have both depth and versatility in abundance.

Alas, we come to our forward line. Llorente on a free was a very good buy (only time will tell whether it will turn out to be great). We have Matri, Gio, Vucinic, and Quag. Bendtner and Anelka are likely to be shipped back, and Cackinta's contract is finally due to expire, so he can go and graze somewhere else. Vucinic is untouchable, and one of Matri or Quag will stay. Matri looks the more likely of the two, and we should get somewhere around 8-10 million for Quag (or use him in some deal). Giovinco will probably stay on for another season, but if he stays here next season, he should be nothing more than a rotation player and 3'rd choice SS. Hence, we need to invest and buy a Jovetic/Sanchez or Suarez/Benzema is the opportunity presents itself.

creating chances is not our problem, it is finishing them.

this team is not an SS-dependent one like it was with Ale for the past 2 decades.

as much as I hate seeing him in black and white, Giovinco is here to stay to compete for the starting SS spot with Mirko.

Perhaps, but that's a simplistic way of looking at things.

Our attack is nowhere near formidable, whereas our defence and midfield are set for at least another couple of seasons.

We need that presence in attack that can win us games, someone who will give us that x factor, that extra bit, and someone like Jovetic or Suarez would do just that.

I do agree about Gio though; it's unfortunate, but it seems he's here to stay.

Our finishing is very poor at times, but I still think we need a class SS.

Vucinic/Giovinco are just way too inconsistent, we need someone to consistently link the midfield to the attack, beat defenders, and support the strikers.

My only hope for Jovetic is the Fiorentina interest in Quagliarella. I'll be so pissed if we sell them Quag without Jojo in return.

I know that compared with the likes of Platini, Baggio, Zidane and Del Piero, Pirlo would be nobody in our history. But he is very, very important for the style of play we have right now. You can see it in the games in which Pirlo is not in the pitch. We struggle to dominate the game, we don't have that player who can control the times of the game, Pogba is not capable of that, and I don't blame him he plays in a different role, and Marrone simply is not as good as required to take his place.

When Pirlo is not okay this team is not okay, he is as necessary in our game as Xavi in Barcelona.

Maybe this season is not being as good as the last one. But come on, this man is currently our best player and our game depends almost completely on what he can do. And you saw it last year, he was completely out of the ranks.

That's why getting his heir is critical to our future. And maybe Verratti is the only one who can do it atm. I'd try to get him even if that means not getting Jovetic... :frown2:

Can Villa and Llorente play together?

(Not that I see us getting Villa.)
I'd say so, Villa is faster, skillfuler and not as physical as Llorente. He can score and IIRC they did back in South africa 2010. But I wouldn't like to get him.

I like to see Obiang come here. He partnering Pogba as our future midfield would be impressive. I see alot of call for Veratti, but it's going to be hard for us to snap him from PSG without paying at least 20 mil. And PSG, are in no position to be forced to sell for now. I think we would be moving in for Nani in the summer as well.

And what happened to Doria? I thought he was a done deal.
