Look man, you and Lapa could go and jizz all over the place with your Rossi man-crush. I think he's way too over-rated, will never become an impact player, and if anything is slightly better than Giovinco. Moreover, he's just had surgery not once, but fucking TWICE on the same torn ACL.

Rossi's stats prove a point, and that he really isn't a premier goalscorer, with the exception of his last season. Drogba is a big game impact player, even at 34, while Rossi isn't, and never will be.
Well, I don't have a Rossi crush at all. I'm just saying that Rossi should get more credit than what you're giving him. :) Yes, his surgery is obviously against him, and I feel sad for that possibly ruining his career.

Rossi's stats doesn't prove your point at all. The stats I posted was Rossi's stats from he was 20 to 24, who's to say why he wouldn't have scored the same amount of goals in this season if he hadn't been injured?

This is Drogba's stats from when he was 20 to 25:
Le Mans (Ligue 2) 98/99 - 0 goals in 2 games
Le Mans (Ligue 2) 99/00 - 7 goals in 32 games
Le Mans (Ligue 2) 00/01 - 1 goal in 14 games
Le Mans (Ligue 2) 01/02 january - 7 goals in 24 games
Guingamp (Ligue 1) 02 january/02 summer - 3 goals in 11 games
Guingamp (Ligue 1) 02/03 - 21 goals in 39 games

It's actually quite funny because at the age of 25 Drogba's and Rossi's stats were quite similar. In fact, Drogba's stats were actually worse than Rossi's. Anyway, it wasn't until Drogba turned 24 that he had one amazing season - just like Rossi. So how would you be able to tell if Rossi wasn't going to become a premier goalscorer based on his stats? Drogba's stats at that time were even worse, but he still managed to do extremely well. Who knows what Rossi could have accomplished if he hadn't been injured. I certainly don't see how you should be able to tell that he wouldn't have done well.

By the way, this isn't a Drogba vs Rossi decision for me. I would probably prefer Drogba at this moment, but I wouldn't mind getting Rossi cheap as a long term investment.

@Foeller Interesting stats, but there was a lot more hype surrounding Drogba at the same age as Rossi, and there was a reason Mourinho wanted him @Chelsea. He is/was a physical beast and can/could really trouble any defense, even if his stats weren't that impressive early on.

I don't feel Rossi (even if he hadn't suffered that terrible injury) was ever going to scale the heights of Drogba; call it a hunch. Moreover, I never said Rossi is a bad player (in fact I stated that he is slightly better than Giovinco, if anything). I just don't like the player, and don't feel he'd succeed here. He is most definitely not what we need.

I really think we should take a chance on Isco. I also hope one or more of Boayke, Bonatini, and Otin become amazing players.

Well, not wanting Rossi for his physique and playing style is something I can understand. :) I understand your point, but I'm still not too sure I agree. :D By the way, I think Rossi has proven a lot more than Giovinco. :)

He has proven more, but not a lot more. Giovinco also had a stellar season with Parma, but he's always been less of a goalscorer. Anyway, Rossi is a fucking cunt, but I don't wish ill upon him or his family :D

I would love to have Rossi here. First of all he'd be a super bargain with them being down a division and him being injured for so long. He'd be a risk but could pay off really well. Also he has that fantastic left foot.
