medicore Llorente

Thanks for the laugh.
There is mediocre and class. For this Juve Llorente is mediocre, for a striker in general he is class. Juve has set a high standard, almost all of our players are above the average of their position - I rate Llorente a worse striker then Juve should have - hence the mediocre. Perhaps a little tight but he's not class IMO.

What Barzagli and Chiellini are for defenders, Llorente isn't for strikers

No offense, but if i'm not mistaken you don't watch Athletic games, so how do you judge him?

But you might watch them, i don't know.
I watched almost all their games last season and I really don't think he was all that. With Bielsa's tactics I suspect even Amauri could score a decent amount of goals :D

Occasionally I do watch them.. Not the most interesting team but whatever I like to keep an eye on Llorente and Munian!! I base my opinion on a couple of thing, his age as well TBH. But my problem with Llorente is not his age really - it's his role as a player, personally I believe the days of big targetmen are over. This is a big discussion and i'm not gonna tire you with a long reply, all im saying is that I personally don't believe Llorente will have a huge impact and lead to an instant succes that is CL!

Lullic is a joke. Really. Who's benching Asamoah for a right footed left back? Asamoah is aaaaaweeesome!!
Lulic is left footed, but also very strong with his right.

He's also a good player, though much more of a LM than a LB, in my book.

LWB isn't a priority position to strengthen just now, though, due to how well Asamoah is doing.

I know Llorente is a good striker. But I feel like he fits the La Liga so much more than Serie A.

I don't have a good feeling about him coming here. Also, I believe that boat has sailed anyways. We had our chance to snap him up but didn't.

I still think Dzeko would be the better play to have. If we must sign a striker and can't get Llorente, and we do sell Matri, I'm all for Osvaldo.

good luck even opening dialogue with fiorentina
You should source one of your informers to find out if there is a possibility of opening dialogue with them

Osvaldo? Fuck that.

Dont let Roma's overly offensive tactics (which will result in strikers scoring MUCH more goals than usual due to everyone pouring forward providing assists) fool you. He really isnt any good. A bit better than what we have...enough of that. We should only sign a top striker when we have the available funds to do so, adding more mediocre strikers to our collection achieves nothing

Osvaldo is a quality striker. Not top drawer stuff, but as good or better as anyone I see us signing in the foreseeable future.

Not good enough. Sign someone who WILL be much better much than him, or stick with what we've got. I think it's time our club stops stockpiling unprolific strikers for the fuck of it.
This poor dead horse has been beaten brutally and it seems that it won't stop. Considering our economy the very best and most optimistic scenario I can envision at the moment is us aquiring the services of Llorente. If this falls through, and the possibility is very real with both Manchester City, United and Chelsea reportedly being in the market for a new striker - we have to do something. If we can't get anything better than the Osvaldo level striker (Negredo, Osvaldo, Lopez (sorry but he has not been impressive lately) and if those alternatives are - I'm going out on a stretch here- : a significant upgrade to what we have (and I believe they are), then the question rises; why should we not go for them? If we can't get the very best, or close to the very best, we shouldn't settle for something worse than we can have. I don't know if you follow me on this one. It's not like I'm super excited at the prospect of signing Osvaldo, but if you ask me if the only two possibilites in the future 4 seasons are to be stuck with rotating Matri and Quags or have Osvaldo there instead of them - it's damn obvious to me what I think is the best possible scenario of the two.
