i say if its true about what is happening to shanghai shenhua we go for Drogba and try again next summer. It's not like signing the likes of osvaldo or borriello is a better idea as a alternative plan to Llorente, Dzeko, Jojo

You don't?

I wonder why :D
 omg that signings that season were worse than horrendous!

If no striker comes, for Marotta's sake, he better hope that Quag and Matri step it up in a big way this season.
Step up? If you don't have it you can't give it - if they step any higher they'll fall off a cliff to their death. Limited players, love them, but that doesn't change the fact that they're limited no matter how hard they try.

What do you think of Cardozo?

I happen to like him
yeah he is has a good finish to him, but whether his work rate matches the requirements of Conte's system is another matter, scored a decent goal against us as well in pre season. If the price is right i mean no more than 15 mill then sure, but i i'd prefer Llorente as i think he is a better fit for Conte. Anyhow if all else fails i hope we test the waters for Drogba at least with him we get what we need on a short term basis, i shouldn't think his transfer fee will be high if any, although his wages will be (probably to the sound of what we are willing to pay for our star signing) and we still save a fair chunk of that 20-30 mill we were hoping to spend on a big name for next summer, perhaps add it to whatever our budget is for next summer.

maybe not if some rich russian team comes calling. But one can assume that the lure of playing for a top side and in the CL may be a proposition that is difficult to turn down.
He could have stayed at chelsea , let's face it he doesn't have any motivation anymore , that's why he went to china . He went purely for the money

so that leads me to my initial hypothesis, who is going to come even close to matching Drogba's current wages as he is forced out by the club due to a lack of funds? Hence why Drogba in my eyes seems like a realistic option. I cant imagine anyone else willing to pay even half of what he currently earns?
