Whatever happens till the end of this year we must not buy Borriello. If Marotta gets tempted and dishes the cash for him our mercato goes back to the days of Secco di Lavishi. The talenless Roman would be available for less than 5 mils next year and surely ready to take a huge salary cut in order to be allowed to kick a ball once in a while in an official match... if someone wants him, that is.
Matri is a good bench warmer and perhaps this would stimulate him to get out of his hot and cold displays. Given less minutes and less of a responsibility might drive him to do better and better. I am unsure, but wasn't this similar to the way they've used him in Nainggoland?

Krasic is a goner as well. Measuring the depths of Chelsea's squad or astonishing in Russia - honestly I don't care. 10 mils and his salary off the books are much more important for us. Elia should play or join him as well, but given his versatility (both wings), the number of competitions we are hoping to play in I am more inclined to give him another half an year. However if its between him and Estigarribia he is gone and if its not the Paraguayan must stay for sure.

----
So far:
Matri - bench; Marco - banned from our stadium; Krasic - ticket with easyjet/Aeroflot(10m)
Estigarribia IN (5 m)

That leaves us with I presume around 60 millions (if to the deals above we are including the ones for Melo, Ziegler and Pazienza) to really look for one CF, 1 RW and an extra CM. Shouldn't be that hard to get top players for each of those position.
Cavani/Higuain/Torres - 30-35mils.
Gaitan/Hulk - 20-25m
Radja or another CM (although I prefer that we actually use our youngsters and get another experienced cheap CM like Pizarro for rotation) - 10m + players exchange.

maybe we can get esti for cheaper
and torres would be cheaper than 30-35 milion , higuain should cost that , cavani maybe more
don't know about gaitan , but hulk should be from 30 milion and up

Thats why I left three strikers. Whoever it is that will be part of some kind of a garage sale and we can save a few pennies. All of them would take us a few levels above, therefore requiring an examination of all other parts of our squad as to whether they will be able to upper their game.

Gaitan would have the same price as Hulk would. The only issue is eventual competition, but if we start negotiating from now and get the player/agent on our side both are very realistic. Hulk ain't getting younger and Porto are unlikely to win the CL soon or compete for it realistically.(not that we are likely atm  )

Esti cheaper? Great. But even at 5 mils I think he is a bargain.

imo hulk's price is lower than 25 because in this season he wasn't himself.

we need workers (rm and st) and that was how the old juve raised...we weren't a big fancy team that splashed millions, well except buffon who totally deserved every dollar. a young striker with desire to join us will do just fine

Obviously some of you only started watching football in the early part of this century if you think Rossi is great. Zidane, Baggio, Del Piero, Maradona, Platini, Cruyff, and Pele are great. Rossi is a good player; a complement, not the jewel in the crown.
You've just covered over 50 years of football with those players, and named the best players ever. Nobody claimed he was with them.

Hulk? Doesn't he have like 100 mil on his head or something...I read that somewhere.
100 mils are ideal circumstances. Unreal, because if there even was a club willing to offer something in the region they will either sell him or sign a new contract with quadruple wages. But it would have been cheaper for the customer to buy the whole club. In his case I would presume 40-50m was the fair value moment that would have 'triggered' the same 100m clause. Now having a not-so-great season, as blʘndu pointed out, no customers making even close to 45 mil bids and the player getting naturally older grows frustration both with the club and the player. Sniffing and exploiting such opportunities is what Marotta should be doing...

Even better, if we can get anyone of them and close the deal at <20m - that would be a great summer deal.
About the workers - I don't think so. The old juve had Trezeguet a striker that is all, but a worker. Camoranesi and Pepe are incomparable technique wise. If the RW has the workrate of Pepe would be fine, but if he lacks some and compensates with tons of skill, flair and attacking threat ... DEAL!

Camoranesi! Now that you mention him, I really really really want a player like him in our current squad! Is Gaston Ramirez similar to him in any way? I know he plays in a more advance role than Camo but does he have the same work-rate and does he track-back like Camo used too?

rossi is not great, and i don't think he will ever reach world class status.

ferguson would have never let him leave if he thought he was going to become world class. look how patient he was developing the likes of ronaldo, nani, beckham in their first seasons. they were not all that great, yet he stuck with them.

he didn't do that with rossi.

So the same goes for Pique?

knew someone was goinn to mention him :D

i think pique was a more unique situation. Vidic-Ferdinand partership was so good, pique had no real chance of breaking in that pair, plus i think him being from the barca youth system, and knowing he would get more playing time in his home club made him push for a move there. don't think ferguson particularly wanted to let him go

I think actually both Villareal and Barcelona had options to buy Rossi & Pique from their loans. I doubt that Ferguson would let either one of them go, but he had to in order to let them develop.

Remember when Fergie sent him on loan to Parma mid-season and he and Ranieri saved them from relegation. He was hot property after that. Plus, he already did it in Serie A which is always a plus.
