How does he play for Holland?
He usually does well, but he doesn't get all too much playing time. I have to say that, since he played a lot in pre-season games, I expected him to play Hamburg's first Bundesliga game, but he didn't. Rumour has it he's leaving and according to some interview by TS ( :D ) he said he thinks he's leaving the Bundesliga and knows of Juve's interest.

Whether he actually said that or not is the question.

I think Elia could do well in a new environment, he's a talented player who needs some confidence, but whether it would be a good deal or not would depend on the price. 15m is too much, obviously.. I'd take him for the rumoured 7/8m, without a doubt. He's a lot better than Pepe, which is not that much of an achievement, but still..

I'd love to have a Dutchman at Juventus, that much is clear, but that's just my honest opinion on the player. I guess I'm going to have to start listening to people saying how it's me overrating him and that it's all crap because I'm Dutch aswell now, as if I said he's amazing or anything.

I don't wanna trivialize the situation in London (my sister lives there) but maybe Marotta should use this oppurtunity to entice Mata or Nasri or someone away from there.

Rumors about Quag - Vargas swap still alive, it seems that's the only way to get him and Corvino wants that. He's estimated to be worth 16mln lol. His price was like 10mln a couple of months ago.

-------------Buffon
Licht Alex Chiellini Ziegler
----------Pirlo Vidal
Krasic---------------------Vargas
--------Matri---Vucinic

So something like that is the best we can hope for? I like it, I think this team shouldn't have problems reaching the top 3. If Inter sells Eto'o and Sneijder (looks likely at the moment), this becomes the second best team in Serie A.

I don't like the idea of us being left with Vucinic and Matri only in attack. If we were to play 4-3-3 then its all right, but given the need of 2 forwards and the fact DP can hardly last an entire game its not a safe bet. And if Iaquinta tries to stay, I will personally go to Turin and kick his fat, clumsy ass out of this team. TBH I prefer Amauri to Iaquinta.

The one Dutchman I really wanted at Juventus over the last two seasons, who would have been great value, is vdV. Such a shame the club probably didn't have the cash last summer.

Would you guys agree with paying ~25 million euros for Nasri and ~100,000 a week for him and using him as a left winger?
Not at all, doesn't he play on the left at Arsenal occasionally? I think we could easily afford him for €25M, especially if we sell/terminate some players (Grygera, Grosso, Amauri, Iaquinta, Martinez, Motta) and get Lugano for free if Fener is relegated.

:xfinger:

However, the biggest issue with this is whether Nasri would even want to come to Juve. Marotta could sell him the ideas that he could be the focle point of the team, at the beginning of next season he will sign more WC players and we will win the 2012-13 Serie A.

Van der Vaart would've been great, along with VDW and a few others, but VdV would've been great value indeed, as he went from club to club relatively cheap.

I'm just giving my opinion on Elia because I've watched him a lot in the Dutch league and for our national team. Even though I want some Dutch blood at Juve, he would definitely not be my first choice. I'm merely saying that since we don't have any left wingers and risk having to start Pepe, Elia wouldn't be so bad at a price under 10m. He's definitely a player who has the talent and ability to do good things on the ball, but he needs confidence and he definitely needs to gain some consistency in his play. There aren't many alternatives for the LW, not many targets that are available and realistic.

It's also rather funny many people say he's only got pace, but nothing else, and then they go on to rate Krasic 5x the player Elia is, or something along those lines. I think people underrate Elia a bit.

I admit I haven't seen a lot of Elia at Hamburg, so I'm not really in a position to say he's shit or great (seems like a hot and cold player), but for 8-10m it might be a risk worth taking. I've said it before though, that when Juventus went for the cheaper option in Vucinic as a forward, then I was expecting a more secure or a bigger name at LW, or at least a visible effort to pursue someone that fits that description.

Looks then like we're going to have eight new players in our first eleven. That's... a lot... and not a lot of playing time together either and on top of that under a new coach. I'm wondering for how long we're gonna look like confused chickens on the pitch.

Ideally, we would do just that, get a big name for our left flank, but I don't see it happening I'm afraid. At the moment the only players we seem linked to are Elia and Vargas ( correct me if I'm wrong ), who are decent, but not what we're hoping for. What I've been trying to say is that Elia could well be worth the risk 'on the cheap', pretty much like you said there.

He did, but was substituted later. He was one of the HSV worst players on the pitch.
I see. I thought I read somewhere he didn't play at all. Thanks.
