So hold on here for a second. We've been bitching about it being impossible to sign good players and that Marotta is doing all he can but we aren't City, Real or Chelsea so unless you're owned by a Sheik you just have to settle. And now I see that Atletico fuckin' Madrid are about to sign Falcao? Hold on, I thought signings like that were not possible without CL and Sheik's. Hmmm...

If we pay less than 10m, I think it could be a good buy. If we end up with Elia and he doesn't perform, I'll get murdered around here. :D
I dont think so, I believe this guy still has the potential to do even better than how he was at Twente here at Juve, he will be playing in a system perfect to his strength.. So i'm all for a 7-8 million deal for him, you wont get murdered..you can always blame it on Alvin

We don't need Falcao. And that whole City, Real, Chelsea etc is bollocks

Of course we don't, but the point Suns was trying to make is that if ATM can sign Falcao, why can't we sign the likes of Mata, Nani, or Nasri?

Has Falcao signed for ATM or are they being linked with him because they got a shitload of money for a certain Aguero? I guess they can offer the money and if no really big clubs come knocking, why wouldn't he want to play in La Liga instead of in Portugal?

The others.. well.. why would a player like Nani leave United for Juventus, as things stand? It's pretty obvious why to be honest.

Let's see, Arsenal's offer of 20 MEuro fro Mata was rejected and i don't think we have yet another 20 million to spent so there goes Mata.
Nani has been ManU's best player last season and in the Community shield this season, again so if he would be available, he'd have to cost even more.
Nasri, if he was to leave Arsenal, can also join City, Chelsea and probably several other teams with more financial power and CL football, exactly what would convince him tp join us, he has been playing for a team that hasn't been able to win for several years now, I am sure he won't join a team that can't guarentee him awards (and we can't, not like Chelsea, City, Real or other teams can). He never declared any love for Juve so I doubt that would help our case either.

So if you'd please wake up already and realise we aren't in a position to challenge the big teams, neither on cash nor on attractivity for matches and football.

Italian football in general just isn't as attractive anymore for top players as it was several years ago, hell, even one of the biggest talents in the league prefers to go to the French football league, surely that says enough about the SerieA as a league.
The betting scandals, the bribing scandals, the football, the empty stands, it just doesn't work anymore and need changes, fast.
We started with out new stadium, now others need to follow, else it will only get worse.

All I found was that Atletico agreed personal terms with Falcao, something we also did with Aguero if the reports are to be trusted. But it looks like they are still not close to finding an agreement with Porto and the difference between the offer and the demand is around 10 million euro.

So what you say in a sarcastic manner is actually true. Teams like Atletico and this current Juventus can not fight the richer teams financially. If those are seriously interested in a player, the player will go there and won't go to Juve or Atletico.
If Chelsea go for Falcao, Atletico can say goodbye to him.

Chester its interesting how Chelsea, City and Manchester U can all guarantee awards, yet they are playing in the same league. Perhaps you were speaking about CL and defeating Barcelona and Real? Seriously - I see us winning the league, before those three teams get a substantial trophy each.

True.

Not just Juve. Milan and Inter will also lose if they are after a player City, Real, Barca, United or Chelsea want. Actually, if you check the transfers Milan and Inter made over the last years, you'll see that they were signing unwanted players. It's just that they were doing a smart job and they picked the unwanted Zlatan, Sneijder, Robinho and the likes. They didn't buy a player after a bidding war with a richer club.

Edit: And such players are regularly bought in the very last days of the mercato. Sneijder for example was waiting for an offer from EPL for the entire summer and was rejecting Inter all the way until the last day, when he didn't have another choice but to accept.

But, but ....
Here is the only league that you can finish 3rd and still be crowned champions.
That means at least two teams can celebrate as champions each season. And also you've got Moratti - he is unique and by the looks of it he ain't going anywhere...

CL, EL, EPL, FA CUP, League Cup.
And then of course, chances of City or Chelsea or any other top EPL club beating a team from SerieA is much bigger.
Just look at last season, Inter was the only Italian team in the QF's, EL and CL combined, that is one out of 16 teams.
That doesn't help to make the league much more attractive now does it?

Pastore didnt leave the Serie A because the French league is better.

Pastore went because PSG are owned by filthy rich Arabs and could afford his massive transfer fee and (no doubt) huge wages. There's not many other clubs that could afford him. Maybe 3 or 4 and we know which clubs they are.

You've forgotten Mickey Mouse cup.
CL and EPL are the only serious competitions. And there can't be 3 winners, especially from the same country. Barcelona and Real will beat each and every english team with the exception of Manchester United ( 1 out of 3 times, perhaps).
And yes, last year was a huge disappointment for Italy and its only normal considering we were represented by the famous European Warriors Inter, but over the last 10 years the story is quite different.
