Looks then like we're going to have eight new players in our first eleven. That's... a lot... and not a lot of playing time together either and on top of that under a new coach. I'm wondering for how long we're gonna look like confused chickens on the pitch.
Last season we started with 6-7 new guys (Storari, Motta, Bonucci, Aquilani, Krasic, Quagliarella...sometimes Pepe) and after the opening match defeat we did pretty well until mid season. When the team was supposed to be gelled well, our problems started. It will take us some time to hit the ultimate form but we won't necessarily look bad at the start.

Ideally, we would do just that, get a big name for our left flank, but I don't see it happening I'm afraid. At the moment the only players we seem linked to are Elia and Vargas ( correct me if I'm wrong ), who are decent, but not what we're hoping for. What I've been trying to say is that Elia could well be worth the risk 'on the cheap', pretty much like you said there.
The player I'm confused about not going for would be Mata, but yeah, pretty much agreed totally.

15 million should be enough. There isn't much competition. Instead of tracking Elia or some other shit, we could really try to sign him.
Do you know why he wants to leave Galatasaray?

I'd take Arda ahead of the other wingers we're linked with, despite not knowing him well. I liked him a lot from the little I've seen of him and even though he's a "hit or miss" and it's impossible to predict how he'll do away from Turkey, I'd take that risk. He's much more talented than the rest and he's the only one who can be really big. With Bastos and Vargas you know what you get (quality, but not top quality) and Elia imo has much bigger chances to be a failure than success. Turan is 50-50.
I'd take this bet.

We'd need another CM for a 4-3-3.

If we plan to play 4-3-3, bringing back Aquilani might be a good idea.
Isnt Giandonato confirmed as vice-Pirlo by Conte? Pazienza also is a decent cover, and I honestly see a trio of Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio in the middle as very solid, so if we are about to get another CM, he`s gonna be a bench warmer, no? Poli seems soo Juve-bound, and Aqua for another year on loan seems nice I agree, but I dont see any of them getting regular starting 11 spot with no injuries/suspensions in the team.

I always thought Arda should've left Turkey like 2 seasons ago, because now I have the feeling as if his development stalled and I always joke with Turkish friends that Arda got fat and lost his speed.

I wouldn't classify neither Vargas nor Bastos as a quality. Quality compared to Pepe, maybe.

I rate Bastos higher, and I think Vargas is only a decent player who will end up in a small club eventually. Bastos can offer more, but we'd also sell him for nothing in two years time. We should get a proper LW since we never had any after Nedved left. 2 year fix or a decent player aren't enough IMO.

I think we'll get Elia and some other LW if Martinez leave.
