players like pirlo are a rarity, banega as good as he is at times, can be very lazy and is not even half the player pirlo is, nor will he ever be, when we come to replace pirlo we'll most likely get someone of a dominant stature, rather than an actual play maker
i wish it was as easy in footbal manager

i replaced him with ganso

we need to buy that player next summer
Miralem Pjanic would be great for that role with his accurate passes and vision of game. He could learn a lot from Pirlo, just from watching.

Problem is that Roma got him recently and that Pjanic is such a jinx. He started playing for Metz first team and that season they got relegated. He then moved to Lyon which won 7 straight titles up until then, after his transfer they won nothing :D

if we do that we should go for strootman for sure
he is such a big talent
he is for me the biggest talent as mc here in Holland
anyone can look amazing in holland, kezman, huntelaar, affelay, to name a few, replacing pirlo won't be easy, if at all possible.

as for seedorf id actually welcome him with open arms, regardless of age, he is still one of the most technically gifted players of our generation, and in the sport that has evolved more in favour of pace, he is still a class player.

Eriksen for Pirlo replacement? It's kinda funny that we're talking about a replacement considering we haven't even had a proper regista since Cristiano Zanetti.

True, Pirlo sort of detracts from the effectiveness of the wingers but if we have similar quality wingers in the future we'd definitely need a good regista.

I've seen a few games of his and he looked really impressive. He reads play so well and is already directing Eindhovens midfield and really showed some good leadership qualities. Badass raises a valid point though that players from Holland can be very hit and miss but he already he has 6 caps for the Dutch National team. We won't go for him any time soon though.

Anyway, Marotta's main focus should definitely be signing one or two star players if we manage to qualify for CL and just as important is the need to move players on. One of those players is going to be Elia, Estigarribia or Giach. I don't really understand why we signed three left sided wingers all of pretty poor quality and ignored the LB position once again.

we don't exactly need one under Conte's system
We don't? Almost every system needs a regista. If you don't have a capable passer of the ball how do we get it to wingers in advantageous positions? Who feeds it to our CF making a run into space? Pirlo has been invaluable in Conte's system so far especially in getting the ball to the wings and most of all he's allowed us to keep possession. Its not enough to have an SS tracking back if you want fluid and creative passing in this system.

sneijder, van der vaart, van persie, robben, luis suarez shall i continue dutch league is perfect to grow up in
you never saw him play and still you have your opinion
believe me or not but strootman will become a big player in european football between now and three years time.

he will probably be a starter in the ec because of van bommel his ageing problems.

ofcourse some players failed in the big leagues when they left the netherlands
but strootman was playing one year ago in the second league here. He moved to utrecht in the january break in his first game he raped ajax midfield apart and lead utrecht to a 3-0 victory. In the summer against brazil and uruguay he made his starter debut in the nt team. (one of the best in the world)
Then after that he moved to psv to become their leader and creativity brain.
This player has everything a modern midfielder need.

I am not saying he would replace pirlo with next season or something.
but he has to potential to become a big player and I would love to have him here. Pirlo can't play 50 games next season so we need a player that can replace him in a few games, i would settle with strootman with in a minute
