I can't help but think Lichtsteiner would be of more use to the current team than Barzagli.
I was thinking that too, but having a backline of Barzagli, Bremer and Kalulu would instantly make us the best defense in the world. And the Thuram- Vidal midfield would be amazing.

Just goes to show how good that team was.
Not a single one of our current players other than maybe Yildiz would’ve started for that Juve.

"In the summer, #Juventus tried to test the waters to reinforce the right-back, by inquiring for Josip #Stanišić from #BayernMunich.
However, the Germans replied by asking €50M, a value that the bianconeri consider to be extremely excessive.
As an alternative, #BayernMunich offered Sacha #Boey (as a simple loan), a proposal that #Juventus rejected.
For now, the agreement hasn't advanced, but #Stanišić remains a followed profile by la Vecchia Signora for the future."

Barzagli, vidal for me
i think that wanting a midfield maestro for years, rightfully identifying locatelli as one of the main symptoms of jj'ness, then not picking pirlo would be a complete waste of opportunity

prime vidal is the 2nd best midfielder of this league of the last 15 years, with pogba a close 3rd. either two of this trio would make this team an instant scudetto contender

while barzagli isn't even playing the same sport as gatti, he's less of a difference maker than either of those 3 midfielders. midfield is easily our biggest weakness. if i could take 3 players of that team, it would be pirlo, vidal and pogba - then probably barza, licht, chiellini, tevez, buffon, bonucci, in this order

Pirlo duh but also Bonucci overlooked in this. Both of them would add to a completely different dynamic in the build-up. But Tevez probably would be my first pick with Pirlo. Just too good to pass up on. That kind of striker would cost over 100 mil nowadays... Sell some other striker and buy a good midfielder with that.

If Chiellini was 'available' id have picked him over Barzagli purely on the balance of the current team needing a left footed CB. Having Barzagli, kalulu and Bremer would almost certainly make us unbalanced at the back still as they're all right footed and generally take the centre or right of the back 3.

2015 Pirlo was washed up. I'd have 2015 Marchisio that played DM and Vidal ofcourse.
lol what? Pirlo had some injuries his last season at Juve but he was still elite and was one of the better performers in CL.

my answer is Pirlo and Pogba. Pirlo is pretty much what we’re missing. I just think of how well Modric would fit right now.
