i think that wanting a midfield maestro for years, rightfully identifying locatelli as one of the main symptoms of jj'ness, then not picking pirlo would be a complete waste of opportunity

prime vidal is the 2nd best midfielder of this league of the last 15 years, with pogba a close 3rd. either two of this trio would make this team an instant scudetto contender

while barzagli isn't even playing the same sport as gatti, he's less of a difference maker than either of those 3 midfielders. midfield is easily our biggest weakness. if i could take 3 players of that team, it would be pirlo, vidal and pogba - then probably barza, licht, chiellini, tevez, buffon, bonucci, in this order

:boh:
Gatti and Locatelli off this team, would not only make our team so much better, but it would work wonders to improve its likeability

What's really sad is that 2015 teams didnt win the CL, but this garbage below did:

There were definitely people strongly against it. Lots of people were skeptical, few thought he was completely finished. Not many were excited.
Barzagli wasn't particularly great in Germany, especially as there was alot of hype around him from his days at Palermo, on our end we gave up Diego (in a separate deal) but to the same club who I think many will say, good player but arrived at the wrong time and needed a different manager, however he was never going to fit in Nel neri's strict 4-4-2

Oh man Osman... for someone who I hold in high regards (even if I never admitted to it till now)... what have you done? you've opened up pandora's box with Turk now!

#Juventus could attempt a push for Sandro #Tonali next summer.

Not going to happen for the same reasons I gave in the summer. Unless something disastrous happens to Newcastle financially, even then we'd be priced out.

Rumours to sign him, signing him in January, and his first half season, there was plenty of negative aura and vibe around him from impatient Juve fans. He was a seen as a former standout young defensive talent in Chievo and Palermo, that was seen as this unglamorous faded flop from Wolfburg.

It took a while before his rep amongst these skeptics changed. And it did massively after a year in.

Not entirely convinced we can do it but I do think we will try.
There are rumors we are also targeting SMS on a free transfer. If he can play at his Lazio day`s level he could replace Koop, with Tonali we would have a Tonali SMS Thuram midfield which looks pretty good.
In any case I doubt SMS can recover his Lazio days. I highly doubt a player who left competition for money at a relatively young age has the right mentality to take us a leap forward.

SMS is cooked. Will be 31 in the summer, 2 years spent in a joke of a league, was declining even before joining. I really hope we're not going for him. Would rather we take a gamble on a young player.
