Well, this discussion is going round in circles :)

However, I can accept by now that the management gives out the agenda, that we cannot compete (yet) with other big clubs and do not the money to spend as they have. If we are lucky we will spend some money in the upcoming summer mercato with the Adidas deal pending and the one or other Euro from the Champions League. Nevertheless, I cannot see why we get players like Pereyra then (no matter how bad or good he is)? We have a lot of young players loaned to clubs we could get back for nothing or less. But maybe, as some already suggested, this is the board's strategy and next summer Berardi and the likes will come back. But how should this work if young players do get hardly any playing time? For example Coman? Hell, even Morata, who cost us 20 Mil. does not play enough. Furthermore, if this really is their plan, they should have seen things coming and got Sneijder or an equivalent for less in summer already or at least setup the transfer.

It appears they are putting no thought in this and there is no strategy at all.
Good article.Just to add.We will get 20 mil from UEFA for entering the knockout stage and an additional 28 mil for TV rights. It's quite good amount of money. Also we get money with this contract with Nike ,and get money from other sponsors like Samsung,Hublot etc...
So it's not an excuse that we are so poor because we are not. Also I don't agree why we get Pereyra and not playing Coman at all.The kid is a magician. How do we expect that he will be good and constant if we give him a chances on a teaspoon?

Did Daily Star really report how Chelsea might offer 500mln for Messi? :lol2:
Because that won't be in breach of the FFP? then again chelsea seem to be able to sell their fringe players for decent amounts to help balance the books

you have to remember though this money we are receiving goes to other avenues of the club, e.g. overheads or allocated to pay off installments of arranged transfers, how much of that money actually goes into the transfer coffers is probably not a lot

I don't like the idea of sacrificing steel in midfield (Pogba) for someone who is just purely technical (veratti) I especially don't want to see someone who is happy to stay at our club make way for someone who rejected us (after claiming to be a Juve fan) to join psg.

only pogba transfer i would be okay is if we can get 3 above average (1 can be a future bove average,) players for him. Real could give us Khedira, Marcelo, Isco. PSG can give us cavani, verrati, matuidi. But this is FM, so i cant grasp this becoming a reality.

Maybe.I was posting that we are not that poor to buy a decent player. We also have a permanent income. The total amount of the whole income and where the money goes will be a secret for me and you I think.

I'm sure there is money to be spent to actually upgrade the team if we actually spent it wisely, but when we're spending large chunks on players just to sit on our bench namely the likes of Ogbonna, Pereyra, Morata you wonder why we are left with very little to spend to actually upgrade the team at the end of it, and it is his persistence on spending to improve the depth of our team that is frustrating right now, we should have passed this stage by now, it was tolerable to begin with but now we're into year 5 under this current regime and we're still spending on increasing the depth of the team or tying ourselves down with big contracts for old players the club wants to buy which is just wrong

Funny how people talk about sales of Pogba and Vidal. If Tevez was younger I guess he'd be mentioned too.

I guess it does make sense to talk about sales of our best and youngest assets in the team. I mean, why would we keep them and sell the deadwood or mediocre ones? It just makes no sense.

I think nobody wants them to be sold, but most feel it's just a matter of time before it happens. I'm against it. Hell, I don't even need big transfers if the young players are given a chance.

In this case,we are discussing a swap which will solve two of our biggest problems : creativity and finishing. And we'd actually be solving those two problems with top quality.

But anyway its a rather unrealistic scenario cos Pogba isnt worth that much and im sure PSG would've learnt some lessons after the David Luiz debacle.

Veratti will not solve our creativity issue at all, and Cavani has been far from prolific since he has joined psg. I would never do this deal.
