while everything you said makes sense. i would apply what you said to any other player in other positions other than attack for juve. keep in mind the quality of players juve had in the past as attackers. bendtner, anelka, boriello, matri, quagliarella, osvaldo. players that were either utter trash, or for matri and quag's last season with club, barely used at all.

You shouldn't judge decisions based on what happened after, but evaluate if decisions were right at the time they were made (sometimes things pan out in a way that had a very low probability, let's say you bet black on a roulette where most of the fields are red, but red and black gives you the same pay off - even though it happened that the ball landed on black, the right decision would still have been to bet red, since it would give you the highets expected pay off). It's correct that we haven't been spoiled in attack for some years until Tevez came, but i wasn't defending all our transfers, just pointing out that there are several factors to take into account in a transfersituation.
