He was put on notice to be called up by Conte.
I'm bullish on him - maybe I'll be wrong. But if he keeps popping goals, he will get called up.
He's actually the type of striker that Conte probably wants:
-He is a giant who dominates in the air and is very difficult to knock off the ball.
-He is great at hold-up play.
-He is incredibly strong.
-His workrate is high and he plays back to goal.
-He can score from a distance and is clinical from in the box.
-He can set up plays.
-Also he is in incredible shape. Koeman's training regiment is not an easy one.
I could be wrong - but he looks like he's one heck of a late bloomer.
Here's a prediction: I'm fairly confident he'll pot more goals than Balotelli in the EPL this year.
And before anyone writes him off... Luca Toni didn't have his first big year in Serie A until 2004-2005, when he was 27. I'm not saying Graziano Pelle will even nearly approach that level, but I think its too early to write him off given the rate at which he has been scoring for the last two years, and since he arrived at Southampton. Pelle's first big year was in 2012-2013, when he was 27.
Just curious why is everyone so pessimistic on the guy? He hasn't played in Serie A in 3 years.
