Oh, then that's tempting indeed. We absolutely must focus on getting one quality CB, that's for sure. What we have right now is pretty much a house of cards, especially without Barzagli. I even wonder if he'll be able to play on a level before his injury. Having Ogbonna, Bonucci and Chiellini as CBs right now makes me shiver.
What we need at the moment are players that can make us jump on another level.
Shaqiri is imo just a decent player and surely not somebody who'd make us win games on his own. I think he's fairly overhyped right now, even though he's better than some of the names we're being linked to. Not only that, but it would be kinda pointless to buy a winger right now. If there's any position that would improve us drastically upfront that would be AMC position simply because neither Vidal nor Pogba should play there. Pereyra is decent but he should be a super sub and not a starter in my books.
Rolando? We need a top CB and nothing else at this point. He was bad at both Napoli and Inter, he made tons of mistakes. We already have Bonucci and Ogbonna to do that.
I honestly don't know much about Montoya but I do have a feeling that Barca would rape us in that deal. Still, I won't judge cause I think I saw him once only.
If we're linked with such players I'd rather save the money than panic buy a player that will pretty much fuck us over financially for at least 1 year.

@Dule90,yeah but which player is available atm that can push us to the next level? Do we even have a decent transfer budget for Jan? Is there any indication we're looking to spend big this window? Lot of questions left unanswered atm.
Regarding Montoya,we're only after him cos he's out of favor so we're hoping to get him on a discount or maybe a loan plus option deal.I dont believe we'll pay a significant sum for him.
Regarding Shaqiri, his name is being popped only cos of the alleged rumor that Bayern are open to a loan plus option deal,so in that case negotiations become much easier for us.

I'd honestly bring back Berardi if possible. Seeing our links with Zaza make no sense at all.

I highly doubt Barca, or any top club for that matter, is willing to let Montoya on a loan with option to buy. If anything it's gonna be obligation. And I believe same goes for Shaqiri. We had those deals from Udinese and others let alone dealing with clubs such as Barca and Bayern. I'm pretty sure even a nobody like Montoya is gonna be expensive, just because he's their player.

We will only buy Montoya if he comes for cheap otherwise we wont move for him imo,its clear with our intentions we're looking for a low cost rotational Fb in this window.Its not like he's one of the most soughted after FB's either.He's surplus there and we'll probably use his will to lower the price.Anyway lets agree to disagree on this matter.

Haven't been following much of the latest rumors, but in general winter's mercato is nothing to get excited about. We'll likely fill in some gaps, probably in defense as we're short on reliable defenders. As much as we would all want Barza to get back and slot right in, I very much doubt that will be the case. My only hope is that we don't get ripped off as it often happen in the past as far as the January transfer widow is concerned.
I'd rather we not sign anyone than some mediocre hacks just because.
Although I also don't think that we'll do that. The only one I actually expect us to sign is Montoya, and he makes sense being a versatile backup for both our fullbacks. He's also still quite young, and can slot in as a makeshift-winger if need be.
