I agree, herny is an arragant little bastard, but a damn talented one.:frown: del piero is the biggest tragedy of raw talent. This lad had skills just beggin to be mastered, when he became injured. Presuming this never happened, and we didnt sell herny, we would of won the treble last year. But del piero wipes the floor with his cocky face when it come s to who was better in their time.

What gives you the impression that Henry is an arrogant bastard? I'm not a big fan of his, in fact he annoys me a tad because he's got Arsenal fans thinking they're a world class club. But I don't think it's fair to call him arrogant. He doesn't make public statements saying that they're gonna wipe the floor with any club, nor does he play extremely selfishly and yell at teammates when they make mistakes.

IMO as many of you said comparing the two players is irrelevant for more than one reason ....
and ofcourse henry now is much better for DP did not play for most of the season even when he does play he is not in top form (always back from injury)
on the other hand a good comparison would be Henry-Trezeguet and i would say defenatly Henry.

His goal celebrations, his keepie-uppies in opposing boxes, those annoying Renault ads...
I don't necessarily agree with blackmint here, but Henry certainly gives the impression of someone who's in love with himself.

Renault ads? Must've missed those

I know what you mean, he does draw a lot of attention to himself and plays like he's the king (just look at his penalty against Leeds), but I like the fact that he's modest when it comes to the media. I don't recall seeing any "Juve don't know the beating they will get in their own home" or "I think I'm better than Zidane one on one" style comments.

another DP thread.......
Guys if you want to compare which player is better you cant compare current form, it should be with talent and ability. So we look at henry at his best days and ADP at his best days.

Del Piero has more class which is something very rare with players, even if he doesnt show off his skills you can still feel his strong presence on the feild. Del piero also is better in tecnique and not dribbling, he is much more creative than Henry. And he has a great deal of influence with players. Henry at his best could no way be compared with DP. DP was the undisputed best forward, when ronaldo was at his prime.
So ADP is better.

Well, on thje first day of the season, he scored from the penalty spot. He blew kisses to the everton fans and celebrated infront of them. His penalty against leeds for me personally i wanted to retch. 5 years ago leeds would of kicked the stuffing out of arsenal. The arrogance, and not the good cassano type, is horrid. and dont get me started on the tacky renault adverts. This is why Del piero is an icon loved by all, he is not arragant and very modest and quiet. Henry i admit, is modest in front of the media, and he does love juve, but doesnt make me a fan of his.

The responses for DP and Henry are reasonsable mostly.

The one comment that DP is the greatest example of talent gone to waste struck home. DP is very talented, perhaps more talented than Henry. But, Henry has played to the best of his talent while DP has not save for the 97-98 season.

When we look back at the careers of the two when they are done with being soccer players, think DP supporters will be hard pressed to call DP a legend. Henry on the other hand will be among the best French players ever, mentioned in the same breath as Platini, Papin and Just Fontaine. DP, if you ask the Italian soccer establishment, will not be mentioned in the same class as Gigi Rivera, Roberto Baggio, Paolo Rossi, Franco Baresi, Paolo Madini, Christain Vieri etc. You agree?
