I've challenged myself to some more difficult things....

Got bored of Europe, so went to a division 3 Brazilian club and tried to see what I could do.

Came second in D3 and won promotion, won D2 and got promoted, then won D1 but got hammered early on in Copa Libertadores. Believe me this is not easy. You start off with some OK players and have to make shrewd purchases. I bought an amazing striker for £350k and he saved me many times. I also had a very good AM RC to help me out. I had a defender on loan to me who was also transfer listed, I got him for a bargain £14k. Bought a guy called Leonardo who I believe was in the Guarani reserves. Also did some good part exchanges to get my left back, Emerson Fiti and a truly classic midfielder Ygor.

It's all very difficult, even if you have the money to buy good players (unlikely) you often can't get them to sign because your reputation is too low.
I managed to drag a young striker called Saimon away from the reserves of a first division team. That was not easy at all. He really didn't want to come! I also got another striker, Daniel, from Botofogo (on loan at Kalmar) but he was also a challenge to sign, and I had to give up, then go back later when I had to pay over the odds :(

Also the promotion is a nightmare from D3 and especially D2. Believe me, if you ever get up to D1, you do not want to get relgated. The number of hoops you have to jump through to get back up is awful.

My success in D1 can be partl

Sorry....

partly attributed to very bad seasons from Santos, Corinthians and Internacional.

The first two lost Diego and Gil to Europe. Diego to Madrid for 1.4m and Gil on a free to Monaco.

Now I'm in Porto, and conspiring to bring half my old team over :D

You look like you've seriously splashed out in attack!
Robben, Cavenaghi AND Torres!

What have you done to Buffon?! He should be untouchable, unless you happen to have a back-up better than Bonnefoi! Cech, for example.

If I were you:

Transfer list del Piero, interest should be generated immediately. You can sell him for £20m.

Ditch Legrot., Cannavaro, Pessotto. It looks like you've got rid of Montero. Shame, he is very good, if a little slow.

Snap up some quality in central defence. You already have Mexes, Rodrigues, Bonera and Milito, so scout out some young defenders or get de la Cuesta, Kleber, or Puyol if you can. Another option is Jorge Costa, slow but incredible cheap and is fairly solid, unless he ends up on the back foot. Francisco....something (left footed defender from Barca, born 1989) is often very good indeed.

Midfield looks fine both defensively and attackingly, depending on how you play them.

I'd guess you have something like

----------------Torres----Cav---------------
Nedved------Blasi------Brighi------Gasbaronni
Milito---------Mexes----Rodrigues------Bonera
-----------------Bonnefoi-------------------------

In a 4-4-2. Maybe Micco for Gasbarronni tho. And I could imagine a more attacking central midfield, like ditching Brighi for Robben/DP sitting behind the strikers.

Priorities:
A decent keeper
Ditching the dead weight old defenders (Canna, Thuram, Pessotto, maybe Legrottaglie) for as much cash as possible, and bringing in at least Puyol.
Selling DP for massive money and bringing in a quality replacement (you may not need one) like Diego from Santos.
Maybe Gonzalez for the right wing. Left wing is sorted for the future with Robben.

Del Piero is not for sale....he is an inspiration to rest of the team....

Montero is currently unavailable because of injury....

Pessotto is about to retire, Legro & Cannavaro is a reliable back-up

I already co-owned Kroldrup....still got Zanchi and some young defender....I think no need to buy new defender since my team is already crowded

I already signed Pelizzoli

I wont ditch any defender.....except Zanchi and Thuram maybe

I wont sell Del Piero.......he only have fitness problem..., I would have played him in the first team if he fit to play

I cannot sign any non-EU player anymore because I have already bought Dinelson(young talent)

del Piero is an influence to the team, yes. In fact the Juve board really hate you selling him. Still, he's getting a tad oldish, and I'm sure he coud motivate, say, AC Milan for at least £20m ;)

Yeah, I see why you sold Buffon. Puyol is not really an option I guess, since he can sometimes cost you about £35m (!).

My thing was that when I had an all dominating Juve team (which got boring quickly) I did squad rotation, so my "back-ups" had to be better than, say Legro. I used to rotate my strikers from Henry/Pazzini to Cav/Miccoli every game.
Rotate AM from Diego to Carlos Alberto (in a DB before he got signed by Porto).
Rotate 3 man defence from Puyol/Mexes/Bonera to Huth/Milito/de la Cuesta (I think)
rotate left wing Nedved/Robben,
right wing Gonzalez/Camo,
rotate midfield from Brighi/Blasi to de Rossi/Cristiano Ronaldo.

So it became unbeatable since I had subs who were also up-for-it, like Alex Brosque (usually crap) and de Corti (the token Udinese superstar that seems to be in every game).

Eventually I left for Las Palmas and couldn't really be arsed, so I set up my Brazilian third division adventure. Incidentally, I'm really struggling with Porto for some reason. I'm playing:
-----Tales------Saimon------
-----Eduardo da Silva Santos----
Alexandre--Deco---Neto----Conceicao
----Cassani----Jorge Costa-----Leonardo
----------Fernando Henrique-----------

Most those won't be at all familiar since they are Brazilian players who aren't that well known. I need a good central defender, sicne Costa is old and lost me my last match :(
I'm bringing in one 16 yr old and one 17 yr old defender for the future, but I need something for right now. Henrique is great, I'm gettign Dias from Sporting u19s too.
No problems up front, Tales makes mince meat of the defences and Saimon finishes it off. da Silva Santos destroys all comers. Alexandre puts some great crosses in, Deco hasn't hit top form, and Neto/ Ygor are both under performing in the DM role. I may sell Carlos Alberto to raise some funds.

I just won Euro 2004 with Italy. In my first game as manager of the NT we beat Wales 3-0 with a DP hat-trick, but then lost in Serbia to a Lazetic penalty. Despite beating Azerbaijan, Wales topped the group so we went to the play-offs. We won 1-0 on aggregate against Croatia.

When we were placed in Group A with Bulgaria, England and France I was pretty nervous, but we topped the group comfortably as we triumphed in all three encounters. 4-0 vs Bulgaria, 3-0 vs England and 2-1 vs France.

Quarters = Sweden 0-3 Italy
Semis = Italy 1-0 Germany
Finals = Portugal 0-0 Italy (Italy won 3-2 on pens)
