Borrigol, don't matter what your girl said, deep down she got really attracted to you that night you stood up for her. There was probably another reason she was mad at you, and used that fight as an excuse.

She wasn't really angry at me, she wanted me to apologize for what I did, so I dumped her crazy ass.

I honestly don't know what the big deal is here. I'd never refuse help from someone I like even if I know that I don't really need the help. As a woman, I know I'm strong enough to do many things on my own, I don't feel the need to shout that all the time because I honestly don't care at all how others think of me as long as I myself feel the strength inside. This is the existence of this feeling that lets you achieve your goals despite your sex and this is only the lacking of this feeling of strength inside which might keep you from being independent. If someone, who happens to love me, cares to protect me, if he thinks I need his help, so let it be. It's all fine so long as I don't think of myself as a weak person who needs the others' help all the time.

This obsession with insisting on being powerful could exactly stem from insecurity and weakness imo, which reminds me of little kids who insist on wearing their clothes themselves to tell us they are not kids anymore.
