Doubt it. I almost never meet anyone around that age who gives a damn about sports. There's a hell of a lot more people in their teens who care about sports than old people.
Did you know that Hamburg have a Cemeteries for their supporters where they're buried one their request after they die. Hamburg are even said to be considering opening an extension.

It is a passion M, and it dies with many of the fans.

Why is that logical? It's a very poor estimate of one's of behavior. Do people say "I will always be healthy"? Isn't that just as "logical"?
I see your point. But you're against short sighted.

Your point might be valid, but you can use it always, and you don't. If you were keeping strict to it then you wouldn't be talking. What if somebody asks you "what do you have in your plans tomorrow"? Or what if sometimes you say "I'm going to work tomorrow, I'm going to buy a new car soon, I'm going to the vacation"? Then it doesn't make any sense, because you don't know if you'll work tomorrow, if you'll buy a new car or if you'll go that vacation.

Yes, but the motivations are different, because you're talking to the person in question. It's better to use the example "I will always love her" said to someone else.
Why is that any different? You're just saying this to yourself. It's like you're on their training and tell them that personally, would that be a must then?

Yeah, this is why I'm not a big fan of making plans. It's almost like making a plan (of the things you're supposed to do but never actually do, that's why you need the plan) is a way of making sure it doesn't happen.

Why is that any different? You're just saying this to yourself. It's like you're on their training and tell them that personally, would that be a must then?
Are you really asking why saying "I will always love you" to someone is different from saying the same thing about that person to someone else?

When Juve got relegated to Serie B I was really pissed at them and Italian football in general. I tried to convince myself to never support this team again. Then one day, I was flipping through the channels and caught them playing against some Serie B side. I just couldn't change the channel anymore. Even though they were strggling, completely devoid of any genuine quality, disorganized, and playing unattractive football. I still couldn't see myself really cheering for anyone else.

I might enjoy Barca games, they are very entertaining and they do play the best football in the world. But even if I wanted to, I could not jump up to celebrate when they score like the way I did for Juve.

The way I see it, you don't choose who you wan't support in your life. They pick you.

Oh, okay. I don't really think Juve picked me :p
I didn't mean it that way.

Look, everything we do is pre-determined by our genetics and enviroment. Hence, determinism. Whatever reason you decided to choose Juve as your favourite team had a lot to do with your enviroment. So I don't believe people intentionally pick teams out of sheer free will or objectivity. I like to think of it as the opposite, almost as if you were destined to do so in one way or another.

If you don't believe in free will then Juve couldn't have picked you, because they have no free will.
    Read my previous post.

I said I didn't mean it in the sense that they actually decided to pick me but rather, the accumalation of all the enviroment factors around me led me to pick them. So if I was destined to support them because of all the preconditions, then it's kind of like they picked me in a sense. It's fucked up I know, but I like to think fo it that way:D

It probably won't come to you so allow me to elaborate. What are the things around me that led me to support Juve? Perhaps a T.V station featuring a Juve game, friends who support Juve, etc.. All of these things existed before I was introduced to Juve, yes? It could be said that these are the pre-conditions that would lead me to support Juventus. Now who is responsible for these preconditions. If you trace them back, you will find that it is Juve.

Juve made people follow them who then affected me, they gave TV channels the right to broadcast them which in turn made me a fan. These are all things I never chose to happen, they all were there regardless. So I would say that they in a sense chose me to support them. I hope Im making a little more sense now...
