Well, here's my tuppence worth:-
Everything in moderation - as too much of a good thing kills the fun
Treat everyone as an equal - everyone is better than you in at least one thing
Don't worry about things you can't change - waste of nervous energy - what will be, will be
Never worry about the accumulation of money; don't make it your main reason for living - there are more important things in life than material possessions
Give everyone the benefit of the doubt the first time they do something wrong - how many times has someone cut you a bit of slack when you've messed up, and you've learned from it?
Never stop having goals, aims, ambition - when you run out of these, what's left?
I'm reminded of an advert on British TV:-
A hot shot City Yuppie is talking to a local part time barman in some exotic resort. He looks over at his family and says - " I'm a millionaire. I work 15 hours a day so that I can make enough money to spend two weeks a year with my family."
The local nods his head.
Next morning the millionaire is walking along the beach and sees the poor local with his wife and three children playing on the beach, having a wonderful time.
The local sees the Millionaire and say, "I work four hours a day so that I can spend my life with my family"
I know who I want to be
Life is about creating a balance, an equilibrium if you like, between needs and wants.
Get it right, and you are truly blessed
