Europeans kept thinking I was Italian or Spanish. (Hell Italians talked to me in Italian as well!)
Turkish people always talked to me in Turkish at first meeting. :D
The first time I went to Cyprus (a largely English-speaking country) I went to a market and ended up buying a bag of nuts I didn't even want by just repeating 'nai' because I didn't want to upset the lovely old lady who was rabbiting on in Greek the whole time. They were nice actually :D

Here in Australia, I always get mistaken for being Lebanese or Greek. Apparently I must look like a lot of people too, because I always cop "You look EXACTLY like someone I know" etc whenever I meet new people.

Dude, I get that all the time too. They always ask me questions like "do you have a brother named bla-blah, or do you live there, or did you go to that school because you look familiar".

People always think i'm either Yemeni or from some gulf state, don't blame them because north africans are usually lighter skinned than the Gulf and Yemen. Even Libyans get surprised sometimes to know that i'm Libyan :sergio:

And when I went to Italy last year nobody knew I have full italian blood until I told them. Guess I'm not the most Italian-looking Italian going round :boh:

As a white Sudanese, I'm always being mistaken:boh:,even by Sudanese people themselves.

Amongst the Arabs, I'm usually mistaken for Syrian or Palestenian and sometimes Notrhen African. When I was in India i was Iranian, and for the few westerns i mate in my life they could easily recognise my middle eastern face but for most of them i looked like a Turkish not an Arab.
i never knew there were white sudanese until i met a good friend of mine in high school, and i never guessed he was sudanese until he told me i'm sudanese bro and i was like huh?!?! from the shock i told him how are u sudanese bro, sudanese are tan and some are a bit dark he was like yeah but we exist bro we r the gringo's of sudan :D great guy he was though. its funny bec he speaks like a sudanese hell even supports the same team most sudanese residing in saudi support ( i think the only reason was bec of a player who was of sudanese origins playing in it even though they sucked hard on al hilal wee wee :D) but u can never guess he was sudanese bec of his skin colour.

Soooo annoying.

If I had a penny for every time I was asked if I was a terrorist.
one of my friends was going for a semester in germany in 2004 and at the airport they locked him up for investigations bec they thought he was a terrorist, and it ended up it was just a mistake in the name. the guy they were looking for was syrian with the same family name my friend had so he had a pleasant 3 hours at the airport until it was clarified he was not the guy.
