seriously tho he's right. theres some things that unify beyond cultural racial ethnic social religious boundaries.

unfortunately i dont think religion's main goal is unification. its more like looking to a higher power for help.

IMO, you can find as many reasons for not believing in God, as you can for believeing, and it's every mans choice to choose, or in my case not to choose, a religion

dont worry, i'm sure he meant to wrong, but i do see where the phrasing or wording might 'seem' judgemental.

Anyway,

i really like the idea about starting a thread that clears up stuff about islam, but now i'm begning to think that this thread should be closed.

My Reason:
it's not because i think that we can't get a long, but it's more to due with the fact that it's unnessesary.
I've been in these forums for a while now and i've never (well...only once) been bothered by racial, religious, or ethinc remarks so i dont really see that anything should be clreared up. We have great members in these forums and it's great to see all these conversation that do not contain any racial elements.
I salute you all :thumb:

I do, However, encourage Learning other other people's whole backgrounds. and i have to admit, that this is mainly (after juve of course) why i'm still active, because it's interesting looking at other people's views from around the world.
So, i think that if people have a religious question, i think that they should ask or send a PM.

i was just pointing ur idea , and for sure u r totally free about
ur believes .

and i want to make a point here , that islam
scured peoples beliefs,
as our prophet said " no force in religous "
which is clearly means , that everyone free about his beliefs
but there r some rules for non-muslims who doesnt
want to be muslims and live in a muslim country , and most of them which is about
not to hurt anybody in the place he lives in . and pay
very low tax , im not so sure howmuch it is , but its not more
than 2.3% of his encome once a year.
and this tax for deffence and services , cuz non-muslims
don't have to be in the army or any kind of military services,
cuz this is muslims duty towards them . on other hand
they just have to keep the safe in the country..

but most of these things changed these days , cuz
they don't pay these taxes , and they serve in the army .

I believe that issues of God is a personal one. as The Goat said, you can choose to believe or not, you can chose what to believe or not.

The reason i dont believe is that I can not accept that "God Knows" as a final argument is any kind of theological or philosophical discussion. If we, humans are in a quest for answers about our existance and our future, taking for granted that someone or something "knows" why the things are the way they are is an easy way out. For some, saying thet there is a higher force which is beyound our understanding is simply not an answer.

It is indeed a very personal question but if you don't mind (and feel free to ignore if you don't want to answer), I'd like to ask you something.

Don't you find some comfort in the belief that there is something greater than us, something that works on our planet with great force but in mysterious ways?

Because I, for one, have seen some things I cannot explain and the belief that there is some reason for it, eventhough I and no scientist or doctor knows it, has helped me carry on more than once.

Now, I'm a Christian but I wasn't always that as I'm a full-time realist. I am one of those people that would tell you that Adam and Eve probably looked very different from us, had lots of hair and a darker skin etc. but I've come to need something to hold on to. What do you hold on to then if you don't believe in any religion?

It is so, Erik. A friend of mine would say "I admire those who don't need religion in their life". But I just don't feel that attachment to anything supernatural, hence it becomes very artificial to be involved in religion. After years of participating I just realized I don't have a very good reason to do it, I just do it because I was brought up to it and have always been doing it. :undecide:

I think it's very good that you said no because you realised there's no real reason why you do it but are you saying you NEVER felt the need for something to hold on to? :undecide:

i just wanted to clear some points about us as muslims
the true us
cuz these days i saw many people have negative idea about us
or very few information about islam
and that what made many people use the name of islam
for things which is totally not related to islam...

also it would be nice if i let the people know more about it

I believe thats the point. That God and religion did not and does not need us, it' the other way around, people need God, and thats why religion came to exist: because of the huma need to get through tough time, problems by thinking it's out of their control, that it's the will of a supreme being.

Let's not get on about the origin of religions cause that would inevitably lead to a conflict between believers and atheists

Exactly. Most people, especially before "modern time" were willing to fight and die for their religion, because it was the only one thats right, thats real, thats better than other. But in fact, if you had been born in say Egypt you would be a Muslim, in Israel a JEw, etc. You dont choose religion because you want to, you do it because it's wanted of you to.

so thats what we're called these days..

I would always find it hard to study physics and be religious in any depth. Its possible, but so many things in life can be explained there are few questions left unanswered, hence there is no real need for religion, for me anyway.

Yeah, but thats exactly one of the reasons I dont believe. Because I think people created religion because they needed it
