My current crisis is that I'm bored with my job so I keep procrastinating and then I feel extremely anxious about work piling up and holding up projects. For some reason, after working at the same place for 18-24 months I just get fed up and want something new.

I'd take a pay cut and have my old cushy job at this point if I could though.

I have an interview on Monday so fingers crossed.
Good luck! Getting an interview is a good move. Yes, it can lead you more to mentally checking out of your current job, but maybe a little of that is what you need.

One time I had an interview completely convince me to stick with the job I was in and complaining about, and it improved my attitude about staying. So you never know.

when i have át least 6-8 free hours, i'm working on the attic room for my son. progress is slow af but this is the last thing i'd worry about. insulation is basically done, and it turned out that i can install roof windows lol. it takes a few hours for a pro, it took my day from 9 to 19. still have to cut some roof tiles to size but the window itself is done, shading blind is installed too. opens and closes like a charm, it's 100% horizontal and vertical where it should be (checked it with a laser beam), i'm perfectly happy with how it turned out

if i survive ww3 i'm ready to work in construction :baus:

Just had a job interview and crushed it. I have this feeling they will offer me the job. However, I'm not fully convinced about the company.

They prefaced the interview by saying that they don't have the appropriate software in place to manage contracts so the job will involve a large influx of emails and manual work rather than having a proper system in place. I didn't really like the guy that would be my line manager - I found him a bit anxious and going at 100 mph but of course I can't really know what he's like from just 30 minutes.

The salary is also only marginally better like £1.5k more per annum.

The one positive is see is that I would reduce my commute significantly (30 mins vs 1h 30 min I do twice a week) and transportation costs would also reduce by like £300 a month so that's quite a bit of saving right there. Anyway, I'm not sure it's worth changing jobs as it could be a chaotic mess and I'd end up being chained to this place for a while.

Admittedly, I'm bored of my current job and that's why I'm looking for something new but I'm anxious about messing up by going somewhere for similar money and potentially more workload. Strangely, as swag said, somehow I feel a bit more grateful for my job and team and I'm feeling more motivated now.

Wat do?

Keep looking for other jobs to interview for. It's nice to save time and money on commute, but if the actual work itself it's messy, heavy work load or a downgrade compared to your current one. Then you will just regret it eventually and look for something else.

Might aswell skip that part and look for something else now.
