So I'm sitting in on Day 2 of 10 hours of panels discussing AI, blockchain, policy, and governance for sustainable development futures around the world. We have people online from all over the world.
So a woman in Kolkata comes on and talks about human-centered AI governance principles in India. But the background noise is I think a fan, because it must be blazingly swampy in Kolkata. But damn if it doesn't sound like she's talking to us with a Magic Wand vibrator under her camera view.

They at least had the experience and discipline to invite my wife to dinner, because they learned from getting burned in the past that employees' family members often had no idea and then things blew up when they found out.
They were a bit odd, but it wasn't a bad job at all really. What impressed me most is how aggressive they were at firing people. If you were a B+ performer and they could replace you with what they thought was an A- performer, they would can your ass in a heartbeat. It was extreme for me, as I was managing teams. But I learned from it to be more aggressive about canning poor hires that weren't working out.

True story, bro: about 15 years ago (after the 2008 financial meltdown and lots of tech companies without funding), I landed a role at a video processing & serving company. Best paying job of my life. But their biggest customers were, well, wankers. Often wankers on behalf of some paying third party. The operated under a murky name of "Meta Interfaces"... there are some lingering references to it here on Glassdoor.
