Great grandpa should've been Spanish as he was the child of two Spanish immigrants but never did the paperwork to claim citizenship "by origin" and he died a while ago. However, the Spanish government passed a law that makes it possible for people that should've been Spanish "by origin" to obtain citizenship.

So in other words, my grandma will be a citizen in February and I'll be Spanish some time next year.

Things will be like they always should've been.
