It's amazing how one day at work can have so many ups and downs. All it takes is one bad meeting or miscalculated comment and the day is ruined. I can see why people don't want to work anymore.

The problem is not the job itself, the problem is the value you assign to the job, and that value is 100% based on your spending habits. Consumerist America is a scam that keeps one chained, yall need to get on my "prison break" program.

It's really simple, the general idea is to plan for your "escape" from America, the tunnel digging is the part where you tighten the belt to save for a property abroad and some money on the side to never stress for cash or worry about job loss. Then you just kick it, live off 2k-3k a month doing something stupid remote with 0 stress and also that you can leave at the drop of a dime. America is a scam.

I was leading a product prioritization meeting with a bunch of VP's and everything was going fine until one person didn't like how I described the situation. Then they harped on the comment for several minutes even though it was clear we were still moving forward with the idea. Usually I can choose my words wisely, but it just came out wrong at the time.
Unfortunately, I'm always my biggest critic, so I wasn't happy with myself. And I'm like you in that I let work things bother me too much. But IT is very much a thankless job at times and too many folks from the "business" look for "gotcha" moments when we're just here trying to solve problems. I'm sure it's the same everywhere though.

Yes it's absolutely capitalism/consumerism that has been literally woven into American culture. But it's also the separating factor between countries with high GDP, innovation and prosperity vs nations that are rooted in socialist traits. See the Europe. Excluding possibly Germany.
Also, how does one subscribe to this prison break program ser?
