I can't remember the last time anyone has asked me that. I can tell you that takes a lot of work and a lot of patience in a marriage. There are going to be days where you are googling the best divorce attorneys in the region.
But when you marry someone, you marry them not because you want them to be a part of your life. If you want things to be a part of your life, get a dog. You do it because you can't ever picture yourself without that person. You envision having children with them, growing old with them, dying in each other's arms.
The thing with being married, for me, was the feeling that I can no longer just do for me. That it was no longer all about me. And that's a hard habit to break. It is probably why I didn't get married until I was 31. You find the right person, though, and you realize that it isn't as hard as it seems. You give up everything of yourself even easier, and more freely, once you have a child.
