It was supposed to be, but the tests came back and her levels weren't stable enough after the scope. So they waited until today. We have been here since Sunday

Hang in there man. Sounds like one hell of a past few days... :dule:

Thanks man. I keep looking up at the screen and it says "Surgery in process".

It's like watching water boil. It just doesn't change
Better than a rushed surgery, that's for sure.

Surgeries of loved ones are truly agonising stuff. Obviously the world of medicine progresses every single day, but surgeries are never 100% safe. Glad to hear she came out of it fine.
I think I'm sort of immune to this.

My mother had a gastric bypass surgery a couple of months ago and I didn't even break a sweat.

Or you just hate your mother. Whichever makes most sense.

To be fair both of my parents are doctors and many of my family members are too. That makes me realise doctors are just normal people and do make mistakes. In fact I have a niece who I consider to be of average intelligence and she's almost a doctor too, so yeah, my confidence is shaky :D.

Lol, I love my mother even though she breaks my balls more than anyone else. I'm just way too optimistic when it comes to these things.

I know a lot of medicine students (and soon to be docs) who aren't very bright either. That's a scary thought :D

Not very bright? Fachidioten you mean?
No, not even that. I mean that most did well in school obviously, but it's not like they're the 0.0000001%. At least not in Belgium. And it's not exactly the most difficult university degree, purely from an intellectual point of view. I will say though that you need tremendous determination to become a doctor, that much is definitely true.
