I got a phone call today regarding a job opening. First call after probably 6-8 months.

I didn't get many details but I heard I'd be working in shifts where I'd work from 14:00 - 22:00 in majority of the cases, while sometimes, sometimes I'd work overnight.

So seriously, when I add commute & stuff that's like 13:00 - 23:00 not be able to do anything. So I have a free morning when I'd sleep. What's the point of life then :boh: WTF

life evolves and priorities change too...I got little kids, good social life and lovely job

take shitbreaks to to see how juve is doing :D

i think you're being prejudiced...you should give it a shot

if if it doesn't suit you, you can still quit

I thought that at first, and the usual me would see this as trouble a mile away. But this other me don't give a fuck.

Funnily enough just a minute ago she was staying over but had to leave because her fiance wouldn't stop calling and asking where she was. Living dangerously
I like that you're already in a shitpile of trouble, but you think you're not and you're confident you will not end up in a shitpile of trouble.

Life keeps getting weirder.

After the Danish girl I've been banging whatever moves and talks but a few weeks ago I met this chick I felt a connection with. Nothing wrong there, right? Wrong!

She's getting married to this chick who lives overseas in 3 months. Or is she? I've been leaving a very good impression on her, really working that shit out and now she seems confused. Don't really know what she wants.

Meanwhile I'll be having my fun and who knows, maybe a threesome just became a real possibility :D
Where the fuck do you meet those, I wanna play too :lol2:

Oh no, I know I am. I just don't care. Every other time I'd run away from this. This time I said no, I'm doing it differently just this once to see what happens. Let me be unpredictable for once.

And that is why I love you.
You give love to the unwanted ones. That take balls!!
@Maddy Weinberg is the unwanted one in this scenario, the down syndrom girls feel sorry for him, so they lend him a short hand every now and then.

It's not that easy. Most lawyers work ridiculously long hours. So do surgeons and dentists.

For most lawyers I would say it's just about money (I'm not going to lie). But in the case of surgeons especially it's also because too many people need (semi-)urgent care. We will only be able to make their hours shorter by technological improvements imo.

And I find it interesting that you look at bargaining power, because there are entire sectors in which their power (which is the fact they can offer labour) might disappear entirely. If that's the case, we will have to find a solution for those people purely because of humanitarian reasons.
They definitely do, but (apart indeed from doctors) they would be able to live a good life with less money and less working hours if they wanted to. No such possibility for a lot of other people.

That's why you need a movement representative of all sectors, not just specific industries.

Fully agree in general.

Live for what with the extra 30 minutes? I think I'd literally live for weekends (if I even get both days off).

I found it so-so to change shifts weekly when I worked in the sales. And even then I felt gutted when working afternoon, as I came home at like 23:30 which made me go directly into bed.

And now it's just second shift aka 14:00 - 22:00? :sigh: It feels so horrible even when thinking about it. I'll see what happens on the interview, I need more info about the job. But I believe salary would ~500e which is above standard wage here. Still, even such number wouldn't help me move into 'my' place and rent, to try to get on my own feet. Or it would help as it's kinda doable, but I'd have to survive and barely eat (and eat at my parents house), but it would also mean sticking with the job and not quitting in the near future.

I just wish things were normal. I really don't need much to stop complaining. But it seems impossible at this point.
And that's what people don't get when they're shouting that "poor people should just get a job"
